For-Bid is an edible protein product that, when mixed with your dog’s food, will help deter your pet from eating his own stool. This behavior is called 'coprophagy', which literally means the consumption of feces. Using this product will impart a forbidden and unpalatable taste to the feces and will deter this habit. You can use this product safely without any side effects, and it is highly effective. Some cases may require a dosage adjustment for the best results. For-Bid is a non-prescription product that really works to stop stool eating in your pet. The product is a highly purified, crystalline edible protein fraction that has huge training benefits. For-Bid is not an enzyme mixture that will alter your pet’s normal digestive process. It works in the digestive system to give stools a bad taste, and there are virtually no adverse reactions.

Super Bummed
Unfortunately this product didn't work as well for my pets as I'd hoped. I'd been told it was approximately a 50/50 chance but was hoping for the best. They stopped for a few days, but then restarted once the final administration was over, BUT I think it has decreased somewhat. I may try again in the future, because it's certainly easy enough to administer.

Litter Box Snacks
I bought this because my dog is crazy for cat "treats" from the litter box. I sprinkled it per the directions on my cats' food and it really did seem to deter him from munching. The down side is that as soon as I stop giving it to the cats, he starts up again. I can't just give this stuff to my cats forever!

Maybe for some, but...
It did not work for our puppy, Tuco. He's only 6 months old, so there's still hope that he'll outgrow his fascination with poop.

Alpar For-Bid
I used this for two weeks straight with all three of my dogs and the one dog eating the poo continued eating poo. So no, it did not work at all for us. Would not recommend.

Works while you are using it.
For-bid works while the dog is on it. One of my dogs eats his own stool. I put him on this, and he did not seem to notice it was in his food. But once it came out the other end and he tried to snag it, one taste and he wouldn't go back. But after some time of being off it, he has gone right back to eating it.

Forbid
Did nothing for my dog. Still munching. I started him on prozyme because I read somewhere he is missing this in his digestive system. So far it's been working. So, I stopped with the forbid.
