We LOVE this tent. We purchased this as my son entered Webelos in preparation for Scouts BSA. The first tent we purchased had a pop-up style assembly and was intended to be easy, but not for backpacking. It was too tall for my son to use, so we went with this smaller option. Not only is it small and easy to assemble, but it is lightweight and works perfectly now that he is learning how to pack for hike-in camping. He practiced putting it up and down inside the house before the first trip, and was a pro in no time. I lo e that it is small enough for indoor camping, too! It has been rained on during almost every camping trip and stayed completely dry, inside. As a "two person" tent, it is the perfect size to fit his sleeping pad, sleeping bag, and gear comfortably. It is almost completely screen under the rain fly, so for daytime in hot weather (and we are in Texas), it is nice to have the ventilation. Not much for privacy, but the fly pops on and off easily, so it is simply a matter of modifying to the needs of the moment. He can just unclip the fly in one side and slide it to the other side. As it is still attached on one side, it is not at risk of blowing away. My only recommendation is to get decent stakes. The ones that come with the tent, although lightweight, will only go into the soil without bending if it is very soft. Certainly not the case here in Texas, unless you are on a beach. However, to be fair, this is my recommendation for every tent I have ever owned. Good stakes are always worth the investment and no tent seems to come with them.

I took this tent on two moto camping trips, one to the Appalachians and the other to the Texas Hill country, and it performed amazing. Easy setup, reasonably ventilated rain fly, and no rips in the seams or in the fabric other than a tear in the mesh fabric because I messed up. That being said, the jersey material they use to guide the tent poles and hold the tent up takes some getting used to. A better design would be metal clips or maybe rubber loops, but at the end of the day, you get used to it and can set the tent up fairly quickly, even when it's 12 at night and you just did 600 miles on a motorcycle. If you get this tent, what I have found to be the best way to set it up is to slide both poles through their guides, then anchor them into the corners. The mesh jersey material hangs up and the poles will go through the fabric. The rain fly clips into the base corners which was nice and easy, but I could imagine a problem should the clip break. Great product. Highly recommend.

This is my third time purchasing this tent because I used it for a job that required me living in a tent for three months. My first one the zipper broke after daily use after two months but I still managed to make it work too thing there’s two doors ! The second one held up for three months the next summer and I’ve had it for 3 more summers after that for 2 week trips. It was pretty sun damaged but other than that everything still worked the same. On my last time it went through a tough rain/wind storm where the poles got bent luckily I had spare poles from having bought this same tent twice so I replaced them with those. Since it was sun damaged and I didn’t really feel like rewaterproofing it, I decided to purchase again and this time I think it changed slightly it felt bigger to me and it also came with a nice little strap to hold everything together! It’s really roomy if you’re the only one staying it but it easily fits two people. It’s also really warm with two people. The material is good it really holds up for a long time. It’s really easy to set up and take down just takes a few minutes. Very lightweight tent too.

My tent just arrived (ordered on a Friday, received the following Monday) and although I have not officially "used" it (I bought this for a backcountry trip scheduled for the 1st of November at Nordhouse Dunes Wilderness Area) it seems to be of amazingly high quality. Right when I opened the box I was impressed with the closure hardware and the thoughtful design (compression straps built in) of the tent bag itself. Poles seem to be as good if not better than the ones I've owned on tents costing four times as much as this one. I am going to update this review after I've field-tested it, with more product details. At this point I'm giving it 5 stars as there is absolutely nothing negative that I could say. It did weigh in at 4.8 lbs, which is pretty much spot on. Size is bigger than I was expecting, and set up is a breeze. More to follow........... UPDATE: After testing this tent this past weekend out at #NordhouseDunes Wilderness Area, I have to say I'm even more impressed. One plastic buckle that attaches the rainfly to the main tent looked like it might not hold, but it did. My only other minor complaint is one of the velcro pieces on the rainfly wasn't completely sewn on, but I will repair that myself. Set up in the wind was a breeze (pun intended), although I did upgrade the stakes to screw-in sand stakes, which for dune/sand camping would be a necessity. The weather was what I was hoping for....overnight temps near freezing (33 degreess) and mixed precipitation (rain/snow/sleet) from roughly 8pm - 4am. Winds during this entire trip averaged a constant 15 mph, with overnight gusts in the 35-40 mph range. The tent kept me warm and dry the entire time. There were moments when I wondered if I was about to go airborne, but this tent held steady. Taking it down was even easier that setting it up - I stuffed it rather than folding/rolling as we were in a hurry to get to a hot breakfast in town, but again, this little tent performed flawlessly. With the minor exceptions noted, I would recommend this tent for anyone looking for a 3 season, super-affordable alternative to the big brand name tents. I will need to take it out a few more times to determine its true durability, but I'm confident I'll get at least another 2-3 year's use out of it. I did NOT get compensated for this review!

Great tent for a reasonable price. I used it on a two-night backpacking trip and found it easy to assemble and convenient to use. The large doors are especially handy for two people. Two people fit well, not as cramped as a previous tent that cost five times more. We could easily sit up in the tent without bumping our heads. I also bought the tarp that goes with the tent which fits the tent footprint exactly and keeps the bottom clean. We had a bit of rain one night, and the fly kept us dry. The only concern might the the weight: this is not an ultra lightweight tent. It is not especially heavy though. Also, it is not ultra compact: I strapped it to the bottom of my backpack as it wouldn't easily fit inside. That said, for a causal backpacker, you can't beat the price.
