Best Samsung I've had
Well worth the money, always been a Samsung user and this is the best phone I've had up til now. Great battery life and charges quick. Looks great and feels nice in the hand, however I bought a case for mine as its quite slippery. Also comes with a screen protector already on it so no faffing around trying to put one on myself. Very user friendly phone.

Great phone BUT avoid if you take lots of selfie photos
Just received this phone. Mixed feeling. What I like: fast, responsive, seamless scrolling, really impressive screen. What I don't like: The selfie camera is appalling, it says 32 MP but the photos look like from early 2005 phone camera.. washed out and weirdly smoothened photos. I can't fathom why Samsung came up with such terrible software that really destroys the power of 32MP front camera. If you like to take selfies (social media, family photos), this phone will disappoint you. I have my eyes on future updates now that will hopefully fix it.

Great service, fast and safe delivery.
Phone was delivered yesterday by DPD and was wrapped securely. I had bought a phone off Amazon before which had been stolen so I was very pleased they had taken extra steps.Phone is exactly as described. Security seal was intact on box.I would definitely purchase a phone from this company again in the future.

Great, I guess ... ?
I'm not a connoisseur of smart phones as I've only had a couple before and make them last, so I've only got my previous Galaxy s7, a galaxy s2 and my wife's J5 that I've spent any notable amount of time with.Reading reviews online and watching prominent channel's videos from people that know what they're talking about, they says this is flag-ship performance with only a few cut-backs to save cost making this the best phone to get when considering the price - I'll take their word for it.So assuming this is a top of the range (almost) phone as a starting point I'll then go from there with my personal experience or issues.- The height is a bit too much. When I moved from my s2 to the s7 it was a bit taller and felt a stretch to reach my thumb around the screen, but I got used to it with adjusting the way I held my phone - this is ridiculous though. It also pokes out the top of most pockets, and feels like it's going to fall out of my short's pocket all the time when wearing around the house - I feel if I were to have it in my jeans pocket it would stay but be at risk of getting snapped in half if I tried to sit down.- the screen resolution is one of the cut-backs compared to the flag-ships as it's only 1080. As the experts mention, this isn't really an issue in normal use, but I'm one of the few people who still use their phone for VR. When using it for VR the 'screen door' effect is much more noticeable than my older S7, and seems about the same as my Switch with LABO, and that's a 720 screen. If you use your phone for VR bear this in mind.- The lack of hardware navigation buttons. Most phones these days have the buttons on the screen now, and this would be fine, but I don't like that they disappear depending on the app used. I play a mobile game, Fire Emblem, where I would use the back button quite often as the in-game back button is in the top-left of the screen so I have to reach across the screen to touch it - and this is more a stretch now the phone is so tall. But now the nav buttons disappear in game, I have to swipe from the edge of the screen 1st to get them to appear, then again to touch the button and it's so inefficient. The only way it seems you can force them to stay is by downloading an app. I'm trying the buttonless option which involves swiping along the screen from different directions, but in some apps I still have to swipe twice just to move back.- The cameras. Again, I've only got my previous phones to compare to, but when I bought my s7 there was positive reviews about the camera performance, and I was generally happy, but there were a few times/conditions where it wasn't as good as was made out. Reading reviews about this phone I again thought the cameras were going to be awesome, but it so far feels like not a great improvement over my s7 for the most part. It harder to use as there's much more options and the lack of dedicated hardware nav buttons makes even the simple task of going back inconsistent.I've still not tried all the modes yet, but the pro-photo mode doesn't feel like it creates noticeably different results compared to my s7. The manual focus is nice in that as I move the slider green lines appear over all the edges when they're in focus so it should be easier to get shots in focus, but even with this some times the pics ended up slightly out of focus. There's 3 cameras on the rear which offer wide-angle, normal and zoomed, but as I change the zoom level, I'm not quite sure whether I'm using one of these in it's native zoom level, or whether the phone is using digital zoom for the steps in-between - on my s7 I didn't have this amount of zoom levels, but there was an option to ensure I couldn't digital zoom, and this option doesn't seem present on this phone.I take photos of items to sell online and I'm still getting used to it, but it feels like I'm having to retake just as many pics as I was before, despite the cameras and phone supposedly being better.I've not yet tried night mode, which was one of the shortcomings of my s7. There's also super slo-mo which I tried yesterday but couldn't get it to work - I'd press the button and it would record like 1 second of video before saving the file - I'll have to look into this. When using the video mode I was recording starting on one camera then mid recording could switch to another camera to zoom in, but this made the skin tones seem yellower with crushed colours. And for some reason I could only switch between the 2 cameras and not all 3?I tried pro-video with moving object focus on and that didn't seem to follow as amazingly well as I'd been led to believe. All in all, I'm still getting used to the camera mode and haven't tried all its features, but that's one of the problems, is there's so many more features it can get quite hard to navigate easily.- the volume buttons I'd prefer to be on the left side where they were on my s7. It's not just because I'm used to them there, it also stops the issue of pressing the wrong button when trying to raise volume or screen off, etc.- lack of headphone socket. Luckily I rarely used my phone for music as I have a dedicated music player, but for things like VR or when I did use my phone to stream music, the headphone socket was useful.- pre installed screen protector. I didn't realise till recently that this could be removed, so won't be an issue once I get a case, but there's a screen already installed and when trying to swipe in from the edge of the screen I can feel its rough edge and it makes the swiping less smooth. There is also some dust trapped under it which is visible in VR, so I'm glad I know I can now remove it.Now the positives:+ Other than the things mentioned above, it is a nice phone to use. It feels shiny and new and slick, and even though I had no issues with my s7 apart from the battery (which I already replaced once) going back to the s7 all of a sudden it feels dated and sluggish - and a lot smaller.+ finger print reader is in the screen and so far has worked every time.+ the internal storage (mine is 128gb) is much more than the 32gb of the s7. I also installed my microsd card so even more space - some flag-ships apparently don't have sd card storage option now!+ battery life. My s7 used to last a few days of average use, then I started hammering the Fire Emblem game and I'd get a day of use, but since my battery started playing up (and the replacement now after that) it was dropping really quickly so it could be 2 charges a day sometimes. This phone is lasting at least 2 full days with still playing the same amount of Fire Emblem per day, and also on one occasion taking 100+ photos whilst streaming music from online via wifi (and sending the audio to a Bluetooth speaker) at the same time for about 5 hours, and it still lasted 2 days without a noticeable drain on the battery during that period. From within the settings you can really get a lot of detail about usage including per day breakdown, which apps you used and how much you've used each app etc, which wasn't as detailed on my s7.+ the 'glasstic' back. To cut costs the back is plastic not glass, which samsung dub their material glasstic. It's fine and I think does feel at least like metal if not glass, but once in a case this isn't much of an issue anyway.+ there's more inbuilt apps/services such as 'link to Windows' and Samsung DeX (which I've not tried yet) which make connecting to other devices etc much smoother. There's an inbuilt screen recorder, which I've not tried either yet. There's also Samsung Kids mode, which we use on our tab at home for the kids (it puts the device in a mode where only the apps you've chosen for your kids can be accessed, and you can prevent wifi/internet browsing etc, check on their usage time etc.) is also useful, but I probably wouldn't let them play with my phone anyway. All in all I'm pleased with this purchase, especially at the price it cost, and I'm just going to have to get used to, or persevere, with some of the things that are niggly to me.Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't pay an extra £300-500 for a flag-ship model that just has a higher resolution screen for VR and maybe better cameras, because the rest of the things I have issues with would still be present in the flag-ships as far as I'm aware. So this still could be the best phone to get for the average user, as the experts have claimed.
