Ralco RZ 914130 Performance Short Throw Shifter Cadillac CTS-V 04-07

Shifter was mailed to me assembled backwards. When initally installed it wouldn't work. Took some extra time to get it all figured out. I also wasn't shipped any supplied grease like instructions specify.However, once finally installed it is a quality product and I am completely satisfied with my purchase. A couple minor annoyances give this part 4 stars.Great value, Great product!

Didnt reduce the play a lot but somewhat. Needs more strength to shift. For a knock off product it is very good quality

shortened throw from 6 inches to 4 1/4 inches. More positive. I had Aamaco install it

You get exactly what you see in the pictures. The instructions are not very detailed. It would have been helpful if the instructions explained where all the parts go that are included in the kit. I spent some time replacing the rubber bushings shown in the picture and ensuring that they were tightly clamped in the shift mount - again, no mention of these parts or how to install them was in the instructions - but this was pretty straightforward. There were two bushings (shown on the right bolt in the picture) that I had no idea where they went until I was hooking up the shift linkage. They fit on either side of the bottom of the shifter and make for a slop free connection to the shift rail. They were in fact so tight that I had to spread the legs of the shift rail apart a small distance to get it to fit. This is part of why it is an effective kit at reducing the slop. It would have been nice if they were mentioned in the instructions. Grease is supposed to be included, but was missing in my kit. The shifter itself is high quality and fit well. There are several resources on the net that are more detailed and do a better job explaining the work to be done.My teen aged Son and I accomplished the installation in about 4 hours in the garage on jack stands. The results were very good. From a sloppy and vague shifter that allowed your hand to bump the AC controls every time you shifted into 5th gear, it became a crisp, precise short throw shifter. A significant improvement in shift quality. Throws are now very short and effort is increased, not unacceptable, just a bit stiffer.Mark me a pleased owner. Better instructions would have made it 5 stars.
