Dear Carolyn, Amazon has two general classifications for jewelry items: Fine Jewelry and Fashion Jewelry. https://sellercentral.amazon.com/gp/help/201450260?language=en_US&ref=ag_201450260_cont_200332590 Fine Jewelry requires independent certification from a lab (we’ve used IGI) and requires a $5000 application fee (which we have decided not to pursue) and enforces other requirements that are not applicable to our products. So we have decided not to sell our items in Fine Jewelry due to the expenses and fees associated with listing in Fine Jewelry. One caveat is that since we sell our items in Fashion Jewelry we cannot use any of the following the product attributes in the field "Pearl Type" on our listings: akoya-cultured biwa-cultured chinese-freshwater-cultured freshwater-cultured hybrid-cultured keshi-cultured mabe-cultured natural-pearl south-sea-baroque-cultured south-sea-cultured tahitian-cultured We have IGI certification on many (not all) of our freshwater pearl items, which are in fact Chinese freshwater cultured pearls, but using that attribute on the Amazon listing will cause their system to automatically default to Fine Jewelry and since we have chosen not to sell in that category the listing is eventually suppressed. So we use the closest allowed attribute that we can in Fashion Jewelry to list the item successfully and make every effort to describe it accurately on our product detail page. We're very sorry for any confusion this may cause.
