Thumbs up
Self quarantine got me craving for a milk tea boba so I went and bought this brand after reading some milk tea boba recipes.I cooked as instructed and it came out great! The perfect chewiness! I like my bobas sweet so after cooking and cooling in cold water instruction, I soaked my bobas in sugar and honey for at least 30 mins before making the drink. Yum! It says to consume it within 4 hours but I noticed after about 2-2.5 hours, it gets hard.I specifically ordered this one because it came with the boba straws. I’m not sure if this is worth the $32-35 though. Pretty pricey during these quarantine times...

Very easy to make beginning with the first go around
I love this chewy boba for homemade milk tea!!!! I followed a reviewer's instructions and my boba came out perfectly. I boiled 5 cups hot water, added 1/2 cup peals, they quickly floated and I then remembered to turn down the heat to medium low. I then covered my pot, set the timer for 2 minutes. After 2 minutes simmering and gave it a few seconds as the instructions were for 2-3 minutes, then I turned off the heat and let them sit for another 2 minutes and a few seconds. I next drained them in a mesh basket strainer and put them to soak with 4 oz of simple syrup I had made and refrigerated yesterday, while I perused the reviews & recipes to see if I missed any steps. I put the softened, pulped and soaked boba with the simple syrup in a large Tervis cup. I also put in some strongly brewed, chilled, Pu-Erh Dante tea with some 2% organic milk and 4 ice cubes. Great first experience with the homemade boba. Also the straws are substantial, individually wrapped, clear with 2 thin stripes. I'm now off in search of a better homemade boba cup!

Sturdy Straws
This is my first time purchasing tapioca pearls. I really wanted to make bubble tea for my friend and my kids after trying it while on vacation. I can't really give much of a review for the pearls except by saying that they tasted just like the pearls I had in another tea while on vacation. The straws on the other hand - they are SO STRONG! It almost had me second-guess whether or not I should toss them after one use. I suppose they need to be that sturdy and hard if they are meant to draw in the tapioca pearls. Also, they have cute stripes of several colors on them. I loved that. Even if you didn't use the tapioca pearls and decided to use the straws for smoothies, they would be super cute and functional. I will definitely buy them again.

The first bag I opened was perfect. No problems cooking them
The first bag I opened was perfect. No problems cooking them, ready in five minutes, and tasted great. However, the next two bags for some reason had several duds. I increased the cooking time to eight minutes and still about half of the pearls wouldn't cook. I finally had to start sorting through the good and bad boba after cooking it, then allow the duds to soak overnight before I could use them. They still turned out fine once I figured out how to fix the problem, but it was definitely frustrating to go through all that effort when I spent so much on a product that was supposed to be ready in five minutes.

Great for new bobites!
First of all, a great value, with the pearls and the straws. There was not a ton of flavor but it's tapioca - it was expected. Consistency was not, well, consistent; sometimes they stayed soft and chewey, sometimes they'd get harder again. I learned to get the water boiling, add 40 pearls (my preference), cook 3 minutes, then turn off the heat and let sit til almost gelatinous, at least 5 minutes. Also, I did not rinse them or let them cool, just straight into the cup. In that state, they'd firm up a bit under the ice but still stay more soft than al dente. Steep your tea while the pearls are soaking; sweeten to your liking. Then when the pearls are really done, fix the drink quickly. Dump the pearls into the bottom of the cup and fill with ice. Tea or milk first is your choice, but hot tea will float on cold milk and mix more slowly if you're looking for esthetics. Now grab a snap for the 'Gram and drink up cuz you have bubble tea and they don't!

Pearls taste funny
The straws are good quality. The black pearls taste odd. I would spend a little more for better pearls.

Bubble/Boba Tea in minutes
I absolutely love these tapioca pearls. I love their chewiness. Great when flavored with honey and/or brown sugar. They're super easy to cook and they're done super quick. I will be buying more cause I love making my bubble tea at home. I love the traditional milk tea boba with lots of ice, but I also have been enjoying the frappe version of these. Simply make your favorite frappe recipe, add the tapioca pearls to your cup and then your frappe mixture and voilá! Thank me later :)

Great boba for making at home!
So easy to make and taste awesome! I put brown sugar on them and they were the perfect consistency. Just make sure to let the sugar/honey absorb into them (at least 20min), so that they have flavor. Another reviewer said they don't make good leftovers, but I reheated the leftover boba with a little bit of water int he microwave for 45 seconds and they went back to that perfect consistency. Highly recommend for people like me who love boba but don't want to go to the boba cafe every time they want it

A little expensive thanks to COVID, but I'm drinking boba in quarantine. No complaints. :) Cooks easily, tastes normal.
