Nice well-built cooking burners that get the job done fast!
My range finally gave up and I'm not ready to chose a new one yet, so I researched single burners to get through the summer since everything pretty much gets cooked on the Blackstone anyway. I chose this burner because of how well designed and built it seemed to be. I'm happy to say that it's fabulous. I ordered two, but one was obviously used, so sent it back and Amazon exchanged it at no cost to me. I don't put up with receiving used products when I've paid for new. The second burner was new and perfect and works just as nicely as the first one. If water drips on the burner, don't leave it. You need to wipe it down asap because it's cast iron and will rust. Don't touch when hot though because it gets super hot, super fast. Way faster than the burners on my stove ever did. The burners take also quite a while to cool down again for the same reason, they're cast iron and hold on to the heat, which is nice for keeping things warm. Rust might be a problem in a humid climate and I probably wouldn't use them around little kids who can't be trusted to leave them alone because that's just an accident waiting to happen. Other than those two things, I think these burners are just about perfect. We've cooked several times with them and so far, so good. Love them and would highly recommend them for use in the appropriate circumstances.

Eight years and still cookin!!
I purchased this is 2018, used it every single day for all meals and it is STILL going strong!!! Because the burner plates are cast-iron they take a little while to warm up, but once hot, they maintain a stable heat. The larger burner is big/hot enough for frying foods, and the smaller burner works great for warming things up or bringing smaller pots to boil. Itโs been a fantastic stove top for a small living space. Highly recommended.

A great portable cooktop
Bought this as a last resort to buy some time before replacing our defective out-of-warranty LG range. Overall, this works really well and has been a great help in our kitchen. It heats reliably and is easy to move around as needed. Having two burners is nice. My main criticisms are that it takes a while to heat up (especially the smaller burner). It also stays hot for quite a while, so you need to anticipate that when lowering the temperature on what you're cooking. Also the entire metal top gets quite hot to the touch, not just the burners themselves, so be careful! Ultimately, I wouldn't want to have to rely on this forever, but it's a great, inexpensive solution whether you need extra cooking surfaces or, like us, are dealing with a lemon of a "real" range that you can't replace immediately.

It works for itโs intended purpose.
I have had a coil double burner, a gas burner, an induction burner and now this one. The first one was Ok. The gas one worked well, but I found the gas part to be a bit cumbersome and I preferred electric power. The induction burner was a pain to use even though I have plenty of workable pans โ its performance was unpredictable and after about a year its brain was damaged and it quit working at all. So I got this one. Simple knob and heat control- check. Two burners, one hotter than the other- check. Easy to clean surface - check. Easy to use - check. The reviews about the difference in heat in the two burners are correct. And if you want a temperature high enough to fry, you may be disappointed. The burner does take a while to cool down, so be careful. But for my purposes, this works โ I can keep potential messes and smells outside on the patio where it lives, grill burgers and sear a steak outside of the house. It is not an expensive stove, but will serve most purposes as an alternative burner.

I'm extremely pleased with this "Cuisinart" Countertop Single Burner, because it performs exactly as described and expected! ๐๐ It arrived quickly, in perfectly new condition, without damage or blemishes. FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE MANUAL (!!!), it's very easy to use and to clean (I took the pictures after using it a couple of times already). It's heavy enough to stay put and sit sturdy on a flat surface, without wobbling or shifting in any direction. About HEAT CONTROL, it's important to know that, before putting a pot or a pan to cook on it, the burner should always be brought to the desired temperature setting FIRST (when the green READY light is on)! Also, try not to cook with pots and pans that are way too big or too wide for the size of the burner. Otherwise you might experience a slower cooking process that will end up in frustration and undeserved bad reviews, like so many here, unfortunately... USE COMMON SENSE! I'm so glad I didn't pay much attention to the low rating reviews and decided to purchase, regardless! Here are some key functional features: - time to bring the burner ready to the maximum (5) temperature setting = 5 min. (less time for lower settings!) - time to bring a 1 gallon pot of water only to a boil (with the lid on!) = 10 min. (on 5 setting) - time to bring a gallon of soup to a boil (depending on consistency!) = 15-20 min. (on 5 setting) So, what's not to like about it? In a nutshell: IT'S WORTH BUYING!

Not 1300 Watts - Only 900 Watts - Safe (but Ineffective as a Cooking Tool)
I just got mine, and I expected 1300 watts. Mine heated up to just over 1000 watts, then when it reached heat, a cut-off was activated and turned off the heating element. It takes 15 minutes to boil 1 pint of water. My 800 watt burner can do the same thing! The reason I sought out a higher wattage item was to boil my water in a few minutes and this is just not acceptable. I'm returning it. Also, although the initial run, the unit drew 1100 watts, after a few minutes it dropped down and failed to draw over 1000 watts. This combined with the governor feature (which just shut off the heat entirely) made it extremely tedious to boil just a tiny pint of water, which should only take five minutes in my opinion. Fifteen minutes is just not acceptable. The unit relies on the stored heat of the cast iron plate, which stores the heat and allows the element to "rest." However, it's not powerful enough to boil a pint of water in less than fifteen minutes and that's not what I'm interested in. After the initial run, the unit only consumed between 850-950 watts. The cycling feature really limited the maximum heat. I'm guessing this is a safety feature, but it also made it very tedious to boil only a small amount of water. I used a 'Kill-a-Watt' device to test the power consumption: P3 International P4460 Kill A Watt EZ Electricity Usage Monitor By the way, I also purchased the 'cusimax CMIP-B120' at the same time, which is rated at 1200 watts. Although it too, only drew 1050 watts, the element stayed on (at the highest setting). There was no governor to cycle the heat at the high setting and it boiled my pot in only 6:30, which was half the time of the Cuisinart CB-30. Warranty is 18 months (versus three years). Cusimax Portable Electric Stove, 1200W Infrared Single Burner Heat-up In Seconds, 7 Inch Ceramic Glass Single Hot Plate Cooktop for Dorm Office Home Camp, Compatible w/All Cookware - Upgraded Version This is a ceramic glass surface which looks very sleek and clean, but it's harder to maintain. For a portable hot plate the ceramic surface is not as practical, if you're going to be dragging it around, since it's so elegant. If I had to purchase again, I'd get the cast iron version which is 1500 watts and with the cast iron is very similar to the Cuisinart CB-30: Cusimax Electric Hot Plate for Cooking Portable Single Burner 1500W Cast Iron hot plates Heat-up in Seconds Adjustable Temperature Control Stainless Steel Non-Slip Rubber Feet Upgraded Version B101 Hope this helps. ืืกืดื

Cuisinart CB-30P1 Cast-Iron Single Burner, Stainless Steel
What can I say? It's a Cuisinart! Yes, I am sold on Cuisinart products! They have not failed me yet! (I've had my blender/food processor/chopper since 1990, and it is still going strong!) I needed a 2nd table-top burner. When I saw this one, (even though I could have gotten a cheaper one) , I knew this would be the better purchase. I have bought Cuisinart products in the past and have been very pleased with my purchases. The quality and performance alone is worth it to me! This burner has a normal weight, not too heavy, it is as described. ๐ It's definitely worth every cent! The only draw back is that I got the chrome top, instead of black. Chrome (for me) is harder to keep clean than the black. ๐. That was my mistake, not the fault of Cuisinart. ๐ It does clean up well, it just takes a little more work. ๐. It is not a self shut off unit, that I am aware of. However, whenever I cook anything, and it's about done, I will TURN OFF the burner 5-10 minutes before the food is done. Yes, it takes that much time to cool down. I use this almost every day. It is a whole lot easier to clean up than my ceramic top stove, and I think it uses less electric (110 amps) instead of my Ceramic top electric stove (220 amps). And this burner take LESS time to heat up than my ceramic top stove. The cooking is more efficient, too, in terms of say, chicken n Noodles. I can not make this dish on my ceramic top, as it fluctuates in temperature, trying to maintain an even temp. It is that "shut down" time, (temp fluctuating) that causes my noodles to become tough, instead of fluffy. This Cuisinart table top burner maintains the temp (like a coil burner) and my noodles come out perfect!) ๐ I am thinking about getting a 2nd one. Sometimes I need 2. I had another brand (for about 6 mos. before it died. ๐. Another well known name, but the product did not hold up. I am definitely buying another Cuisinart table top burner!
