I bought this for my elderly mother to replace an older but similar Motorola. This is an excellent phone that's a delight to use and has every feature you normally need bar 5G connectivity and wireless charging. I'm using a Realme X50 5G myself which is a quite a bit more expensive with higher spec (5G and120Hz screen) and despite this the Realme 8 still compares very favorably. The screen is bright, fast, smooth and clear, the processor is very quick, the through screen fingerprint reader is much faster and better than the side mounted one on my X50 and the camera seems pretty good. There's plenty of RAM and 128Gb is enough storage for most. It even has a micro SD slot to expand the memory even further. This slot is in additions to the dual SIM slots. This is a great phone for anyone who doesn't need 5G, a professional level camera or wireless charging. The fact that it costs so little is a complete bonus. Oh, and it's got 30W Dart charging the same as my X50 which will fully charge in under an hour. My Mum is a light user of her Realme 8 but she does leave it on overnight with location and WiFi always on. I've told her to only charge to 80% to extend the battery life and even with only charging to 80%, she still gets 3 full days between charges. The battery life is excellent.

Got the black version as it does not have the big logo on the rear. Lightweight for a big battery capacity phone. Charges in about an hour with supplied charger. 2 days between charges. Excellent screen. Good camera, even has option for raw. Generally very nippy with 6Gb ram and plenty of onboard storage (128 Mb). Call quality very good. Fingerprint reader on the screen is actually easier and fast reacting. For a budget phone its good value.

Phones great at the price, battery life is brilliant. Camera looks rubbish before pictures are captured, but once processed look great. Screens top quality even though it is a little big. Processing speed is great, would definitely recommend for a good quality affordable smart phone anyway.

Coming from a £200 mobile in 2019, I found this a bargain and a great upgrade. In-screen fingerprint is a godsend to a sweater like me!Face unlock was instant and because of the oled screen fingerprint, greasy, sweaty or dirty fingers obviate the irritating Huh Uhh shaky thing when not recognised.Pictures are sharp and the dart charge of 30 watts was just amazing to me.These things are mind blowing and I was super impressed with all of it until…Three weeks after purchase the camera screen froze. A big problem obvs when face unlock is constantly used. Couldn’t reset it, change any settings and 3rd party apps had the same issue. From online research the only answer was return (for repair or refund).So (bad) luck of the draw but Amazon we’re just as good as you’ve heard about returns.Overall, a great phone esp for the price when it works so 5 stars if it has no issues and zero stars obviously if the you lose an essential feature as described.

Had theis for a few months now and it seems a well featured phone at the price. The battery life is astonishing - I don't use many features excpet the phone ones and battery can last several days. Also seems to perform reasonably in weak signal areas. The dual SIM is a good bonus and easy to use.On the negative side. the screen seems to positively attract fingerprint marks and the fingerprint recognition can be a bit hit/miss but that might be my fingers.

I ordered this phone as a replacement and I have to say for the money, I am very impressed by its performance.Its light and it has alot of features and combined with the new Android 11 update, its a great handset.I was out off by the price thinking it would be a cheap no phone but it's great and with the fast charger enclosed with it, makes charging this phone faster.Camera is great with lots of features, so if you are looking for a cheap phone that I think it is just as good as too brands, you won't be disappointed with this hand set.I also downloaded cover fire game which is a fast paced game platform to see how the phone candles the graphics and test the processor and it's brilliant!

This replaced a Samsung Galaxy S10 which drove me mad turning itself on and playing music I didn't want to listen to. Then when I did want to open it neither the fingerprint sensor nor face recognition would respond.With this the screen is as good, to my eyes. The fingerprint sensor works way better than the Samsung, although it occasionally takes two or three attempts.The smart aspect of the phone is quick and responsive and the camera meets my needs perfectly.Not only would I recommend this phone as a budget option, but for me it is a more than adequate replacement for any flagship offerings.

I don't normally do reviews, but felt needed to for this.Iv had this phone for 4 months now, and I can't fault it for the price.Picture quality is great, does everything a more expensive phone would.Why would you ever spend 4 times as much?!?

Gesamtfazit.Entschieden habe ich mich für dieses Smartphone, da mittlerweile so extrem viel nur noch digital läuft. Neben meinem privaten Handy (Iphone 11) wollte ich ein Smartphone, welches ich an der Arbeit optimal nutzen kann. Dieses Mittelklasse Smartphone erfüllt hier tatsächlich all meine Wünsche, vor allem das AOD Display hilft mir hier weiter.1. Design und VerarbeitungBestehend aus einem Kunststoffrahmen und einer glänzenden Rückseite ist das Design mal etwas „außer der Reihe“. Maße: 161 x 74 x 8 mm und einem Gewicht von 178 Gramm.Im Vergleich zu anderen Smartphones somit ein echtes Leichtgewicht. Im Vergleich, mein IPhone 11 bringt 194g auf die Waage.Bei der Kunststoffrückseite muss man bezüglich Kratzern und Fingerabdrücken vorsichtig sein. Diese Oberfläche ist leider etwas anfällig. Abhilfe kann man sich mit der Silikonschutzhülle verschaffen.Der „Kamerahügel“ ragt 1,5mm hervor. Die Kameraeinheit und der Slogan von Realme „DARE TO LEAP“ sind farblich mit einem Regenbogenschimmer abgesetzt. Das Punk Black bietet hier erstmals einen deutlich dezenteren Schriftzug bzw Hintergrund der Schrift.Insgesamt macht das Realme 8 einen sauber verarbeiteten Eindruck. Haptisch wirkt es minimal „günstig“. Des Weiteren verfügt das Smartphone über einen In-Display-Fingerabdrucksensor. Über den Sensor kann man sich etwas streiten. Bei leicht schwitzigen Händen, die ich leider nun mal habe, vor allem im Sommer, erkennt der Sensor meinen Finger nicht immer. Aber das war auch bei anderen Handys bereits ein Problem. Der Schutzpin ist ja dann auch schnell eingegeben. Der reine Entsperrvorgang wirkt dann aber etwas behäbig. Die Gesichtsentsperrung hingegen funktioniert einwandfrei. Manchmal nur einfach nicht nutzbar aufgrund Maskenpflicht. :‘DAn der Unterseite des Handys finden dann der 3,5mm Kopfhöreranschluss, der USB-C-Anschluss und ein Monolautsprecher ihren Platz. Links außen sind die beiden Slots für die Nano-Simkarten und der Slot für die Micro-SD angebracht.2. Display:Ich verschone euch an dieser Stelle mit technischen Daten wie Auflösung und Co., aber für die, die es interessiert: Das 6,4 Zoll große Display löst mit 2400 x 1080 Pixel auf.Viel wichtiger ist aber die Frage, wie gut das Display im Hellen ist? Bei automatisch eingestellter Helligkeit boostet das Handy auf 950 Lux und ist im Freien damit perfekt lesbar.Die Farben des Realme 8 wirken auf den ersten Moment etwas übertrieben/unnatürlich, man gewöhnt sich aber schnell dran und hat damit sogar Freude. Außerdem könnt ihr auch von „Lebhaft“ (kräftige Farben) zu „Mild“ (akkurate Farben) wechseln. Einen terminierbaren Dark-Modus gibt es ebenfalls, der vor allem zur Abend-/Nachtzeit Komfort für die Augen bedeutet.Eingaben auf dem Display werden schnell und genau umgesetzt. – nicht aus eigener Quelle: Realme erwähnt kein besonderes verbautes Glas, allerdings soll das Display im Belastungstest einem Messer locker standhalten. –3. Leistung und SystemFür mich irrelevant, aber um es mal zu testen, habe ich mir mal ein anspruchsvolles Spiel heruntergeladen und dachte, dass das Handy Performancetechnisch schnell an seine Grenzen kommt. Ich wurde aber vom Gegenteil überzeugt. Es lief einfach butterweich. Auch die Hitzeentwicklung war überschaubar, 39 Grad Celsius an der heißesten Stelle (gemessen nach 30 Minuten Spielzeit).Die integrierten 128 GB Speicher können mittels Micro-SD bis zu 1 TB erweitert werden.4. KameraHauptkamera: 64 MP SonyUltraweitwinkel: 8 MPMakroZoom-Kamera: 2 MPTiefensensor: 2 MP (Portraits)Selfie: 16 MP SonyDie Kameraapp ist einfach aufgebaut und beinhaltet einen Nacht- und Pro-Modus. Die Auslösezeit ist kurz und der Autofokus arbeitet schnell und genau. Absolut ausreichend also.Ergebnis der Bilder: Für das investierte Geld absolut zufriedenstellend. Meckern auf hohem Niveau wäre dann zu sagen, dass die Farben etwas übertrieben kräftig wirken oder das beim Reinzoomen unscharfe Bereiche entstehen.5. Konnektivität und KommunikationUm es kurz zu halten, die 5G Frequenz wird hier nicht bedient, Maximum ist 4G (LTE). Beim aktuellen Netzausbau in Deutschland aber kaum ein spürbarer Nachteil.Realme punktet mit einem starken Netzempfang und zeigte auch in etwas schlechter abgedeckten Gebieten keinerlei Probleme. Für das Telefonieren kann man die Features VoLTE und VoWIFI nutzen.VoLTE: Telefonie über das 4G NetzVoWIFI: Telefonie über das WLANBei beiden Varianten war die Gesprächsqualität tadellos (für beide Seiten) und das zweite Mikrofon filtert zuverlässig Störgeräusche heraus.Die Verbindung zum WLAN und die damit einhergehenden Download-/Uploadgeschwindigkeiten sind klasse.Mittels GPS, AGPS usw. wird die Position auf dem Handy binnen kürzester Zeit auf wenige Meter genau bestimmt.6. AkkuIn der Praxis hält das Handy bei mir teilweise bis zu 2 Tagen, das hätte ich anfangs nicht für möglich gehalten. Geladen wird es natürlich nicht immer erst bei unter 10 Prozent, denn, wenn man viele Stunden unterwegs ist, möchte man sein Handy ja aufgeladen mitnehmen.Aufgeladen ist das Handy von 0% auf 100% binnen von 1h und 10 Minuten und von 0% auf 50% binnen von 28 Minuten. Spitzenwerte.7. GesamtfazitMich hat das Mittelklassesmartphone von Realme überzeugt. Optisch mal was Anderes, zuverlässig im Verarbeiten von Daten, das Telefonieren ist ein Genuss und die Kameraqualität kann absolut kompensiert werden. Da es mein Zweithandy ist und vor allem für die Arbeit da ist, bin ich vor allem mit der Akkulaufzeit und dem AOD mega zufrieden.Ich vergebe hier 5/5 Sterne.Ich hoffe, ich konnte euch mit meiner Rezension helfen und euch bei eurer Kaufentscheidung das Ganze etwas erleichtern.
