Horrible. Low-Budget to begin with
Horrible.Low-Budget to begin with, vague story line not at all worthy to be a paid movie. I didnt even finish it. For that a refund should be issued. My review: Avoid.

Great film! It does have an "indie" vibe, so may not be appealing for everyone.

A Not Too Thrilling Thriller
"Headless" is a strange low-budget movie that is enjoyable more for its wintry, forlorn northern California locations than anything else, and certainly not for its plot or construction.Having to do with a young lady's investigation into the murder of her sister, an apparent witch, the movie does not live up to its own logic and never explains why no one else has looked into the death, nor even exactly what the case's disposition was. I re-watched the beginning thinking maybe I'd missed something. I had not!In addition the acting, while occasionally interesting, is usually just weird. The direction is uneven. And the movie seems to attack organized Christianity, without bothering to acknowledge that it was made in a Christian-founded country to which a tiny minority of witches contributed little or nothing. To make matters worse, "Headless" seems to mix up Catholicism and Protestantism, with the lead bad guy dressing and acting like a Catholic monk, while others act like country-boy fundamentalists. Some research on the part of the filmmakers might have helped!I am not giving anything away with all this information. There are few actors in the movie and therefore no room for a "list of suspects." Its short length does not help, and the ending leaves one confused as to whether the victims were witches or not. This is not to mention the strange interludes, such as when the heroine chooses to spend the night with some clearly suspicious men just because she's afraid to walk to her car.All in all, though, this might be worth a watch, especially for the scenery. As long as one doesn't expect any outstanding filmmaking along the way.

A Worthy Watch with a great female lead
Headless is the creation of writer, director and producer Toby Lawrence. I helped produce the film. Emily Jackson is the lead actress and takes you on her journey from the opening scene. I'd call this a thinking persons suspense film. Dark at times, you care about Emily's character throughout and root her on as she deals with a pretty psychotic family.
