The piano is excellent. It's the user experience around obtaining the piano that isn't fun.You'll receive a large padded envelope containing nothing but a piece of thick paper with cheap-looking laser-printed instructions on it. And your first thought might be, "this is a scam". Be aware that the instructions are incomplete. When you're typing in the serial number, be sure to include the hyphens. The instructions don't tell you to do that, and I can't recall ever having to include hyphens when entering a serial number (and I've entered hundreds). But if you omit them (as you'd expect to be able to), then the serial number won't work, and that'll be the second time you'll think, "this is a scam". In any case, after you've signed up for an account and entered your serial number, you'll then be asked to download an image, which you'll use later. But at this point the printed instructions and the online instructions leave you high and dry. Through trial and error and a fruitless search for how to download "the standalone player" (which the website says is available only on a thumb drive), I figured out that you have to return to the very first step and click "Begin Download Process" again, and then you'll see the link to download the product. Possibly navigating MakeMusic's very amateurish website might be the third time you think you're in scam-land.So, navigating the instructions/website is cryptic and takes a long time, downloading the zip takes a long time (about 30 mins), unzipping the zip takes a long time, installing takes a long time, decompressing the samples takes an unbelievably long time (about an hour). The whole experience is tiring and time-consuming. And eventually you'll get to use the image that you downloaded a very long time ago.And finally you'll experience the excellent piano. Garritan made the piano. MakeMusic made the poor user experience.
