Pour-over dreams
I'm a pretty picky guy and I have been looking for a way to make coffee at home for awhile now but nothing really fit my needs. The key things I was looking for was simplicity, ease of cleaning, brews a mean cup of coffee, and not too pricey. So I decided to give this filter a try and have been pleasantly surprised so far! I make coffee pretty much everyday and have been able to make a nice, beefy cup of coffee consistently. The filter is very easy to set up and use - it takes me a couple of minutes and that is only because I actually find it kinda fun now.A few tips that really helped me up my coffee game:1. Read the instructional e-mail sent when you order it!! For example, it tells you that pouring a bit of boiling water in the beginning and leaving it for 30 seconds makes the coffee come out even better! I would not have known about this on my own and it really does bring out more flavor.2. Pour slowly and in circular motions after you wait 30 seconds. Maybe it's psychological but I feel like I'm involving all the coffee grounds better to get a richer cup of coffee3. Get good beans and grind them specifically for use with a metal filter! A medium to medium-fine grind works nicely with the filterThat's about it. Highly recommend the product - I have recommended it to a few friends already. The seller is also pretty helpful since I had a few questions before hand. A quick pros/cons for the tl;dr:Pros- Simple to use: place it over your cup, put in coffee grinds, pour in hot water... the end (or see my next point).- Easy to clean: dump out the grinds and rinse it out. That's it! A quick soap up every now and then helps wash out the oils that may linger though.- Strong coffee: makes a pretty tough cup of coffee. You can adjust it pretty easily to what you like (e.g. more water/more grinds) but I like it pretty strong. Those coffee oils really make a difference- Affordable: one time cost for the filter and has saved me money and many trips to a nearby coffee shop. I'm actually surprised at how long a bag of coffee grinds will last me; I have definitely made up for the cost of the filter by not having to buy a daily cup of coffee- Compact: a minor benefit but this doesn't clutter my kitchen counter since it's much smaller than a coffee maker.Cons- I drink too much coffee now... (kidding)- Packaging: The packaging and information included was pretty sparse. Fortunately, the seller sends a helpful e-mail on how to use the filter. While the filter is easy enough to use on its own without instructions, there were some good tips in the e-mail that I was glad to know about.

Makes Excellent Coffee, Clogs Regularly
I'm new to making pourover and this is my first such device. I had previously used a Bonavita drip machine and switched to a metal filter to get away from using paper filters. I then made the transition to this pourover device. I like it quite a bit, I can definitely taste the difference in my coffee. When I drink some of my wife's coffee from the machine, it now tastes weak and a bit on the bland side. It's easy to use, seems fairly sturdy in construction, and does its job admirably. My only complaint, and this might be universal to pourover devices, is that it clogs regularly. I live in the desert southwest and have very hard water, so I'm used to things clogging and needing to be flushed out. But, even if I used filtered water for my coffee, this filter still clogs with coffee material and needs to be soaked for a while in either vinegar or lemon juice to clean it out. This isn't really a big deal, but as the filter clogs, you will notice that your coffee is taking longer and longer to filter through the device, which also impacts the quality of your cup.I'd still recommend this filter, even with my gripe. It makes great coffee and it's a decent price.

the best way to drink coffee
I bought this pour over coffee filter for my fiance, who has discovered that doing the pour over method is, in his words, the best way to drink coffee. Since I know squat about this type of coffee brewing, I asked another friend to recommend a pour over. We skimmed through the various products offered and were impressed by what others have said about the Meltera filter. However, the best judge for me was my fiance. He loves it! He uses it primarily for single cups, although you can get 2 cups of java from it. The rim at the bottom of the filter fits nicely over any regular coffee cup (extra large mouthed cups are too big). The point at the bottom is solid so the coffee grounds can't flow out. You are able to see, as you pour in the water, what the level is so you won't over fill your cup. It's easy to clean, the grounds do not get stuck in the filter (provided you do NOT use finely ground coffee) It's a huge plus that you do not have to use paper filters. My fiance likes it so much he wants to get one for his sister who has been looking for one.

Good for 10oz or less - clogs quickly
We have found it works for one cup, maybe two but it is SO MUCH SLOWER than a paper filter. We purchased this hoping to cut back on waste in our household but I am buying a chemex or some other paper filter machine now. This has to be washed meticulously to get it drip quickly on the next brew and even then it starts to clog around 10-12oz. Then your partner/spouse gets really mad you didn't make them coffee. I can't wait ten minutes for a one cup of coffee, and it seriously effects the taste at that point. This filter has helped up well over our four months of using it everyday several times a day. We do hand wash it as our last one didn't make it long in the dishwasher. Make sure to grind more on the medium coarse side otherwise it will clog very quickly.

Highly recommended for true coffee lovers
I was totally wowed by this coffee filter. I've been using french presses for years and hated having to take apart the plunger in order to clean it properly. It was such a hassle to put them back together again. This little filter cleans up beautifully, makes a delicious cup of coffee - faster than a press - and I'll never again have the aggravation of fumbling around with cleaning the filters. I'm going to be purchasing another one soon just to have on hand for company or for those days I'm too lazy to do the dishes. I highly recommend.
