I can sing word for word every song on this album. Got a turntable as a gift and this is a perfect addition to my nostalgia collection!

Sound quality is great.

The Stylistics lent a big hand in shaping 1970s soul music. Their group harmonies were dreamy but the main reason they were so great was for the whimsical falsetto of Russell Tompkins Jr. (He's comparable to Philip Bailey of Earth, Wind and Fire though much less remembered). Of course, this wouldn't matter were it not for the songwriting team of Thom Bell and Linda Creed. Their songs - "Break Up To Make Up", "You Are Everything", "I'm Stone In Love With You", "Betcha By Golly, Wow", "You Make Me Feel Brand New" - are goldmines. The Stylistics were so talented and comfortable in this formula for a few years, but when they changed gears with the funky "Heavy Fallin' Out", hardly anyone wanted it. It's sad because the evidence of this shift in direction was that they could have taken funk somewhere. This was 1974. Be that as it may, this super fine best-of does its job in getting me back on the Philly Soul-lover express.
