Changing my review to 4 stars - re: Definitely not 2 inch.....not even an inch lol.
I left a one-star review the other day because when I opened the package and let the foam panels air out, they didn't expand or increase in size. Lazily, I didn't see the additional instructions because you have to click through the images. My expectations were that the foam panels were going to be good to go after unpacking. If your panels aren't expanding, soak them in water for a minute or more and wring them out. I then put them in the dryer and then air out. They expanded. 4 stars because it wasn't clear from the start. I would have a pamphlet or instruction suggestion on top of the panels in the box so people know. Probably leaving money on the table.

Packaging tight plastic wrapping causes disfiguration
I used these on the old single pane windows in my apartment that have gaps letting in cold air and drafts. By placing acoustic panels in the gaps, noise is reduced as well as wind (and bugs) from getting inside. These acoustic panels, coupled with plastic film over the window (and heavy insulating and sound reducing curtains if so desired), results in darkened quiet room for great rest at night and hopefully blocks out noise from landscaping machines once a week right outside the window.

Cleanly cut edges, straight fins, and easy to restore full height
I saw a few other reviews from people saying that their tiles were either cut too roughly, had bent or wavy fins, or wouldn't expand to their full thickness after opening. In my experience, the edges were cut perfectly and all of the "fins" are nice and straight and even.Regarding restoring the thickness of the tiles, I found a small paper tag inside the bag that I betting many people are losing or throwing out without reading. The English isn't great, but it's clear what they are trying to say - soak them in water, wring out the excess, the wait 3-4 hours for them to dry. For me the tiles thickened up immediately when soaked in water, and the 3-4 hour wait recommendation is more about letting them air dry. I'm sure you could just as easily toss them in the dryer for a bit as others have done, but I didn't and they turned out perfectly fine! The density of these tiles are somewhere between egg crate foam and memory foam mattresses. I can't speak to whether they are dense enough for professional use, but they feel better to me than just plain old foam.

Good basic reverb control
I bought these because my pandemic work-from-home setup is in a corner that had my voice sounding very boxy. I put these up with a little blutack and velcro. These are a full 2" from the peak of the ridge, but understand that the are fairly low density and the nominal thickness in the bottom of the ridges is only about 0.75 inches. These are for cutting some mids, but mostly high frequencies.Do a little internet research to understand what you are buying. If you're trying to control a broad frequency range including lower frequencies, or trying to soundproof a space, these aren't what's you're looking for. However, ifyou are trying to take some high frequency out of the room, great for making a more neutral recording or getting rid of that small room/boxy sound, these work.Overall, there's nothing fancy about these, it's a low density open cell foam of good quality. If you are trying to neutralize the reverb from a room, find your flat, hard surfaces (especially if there are parallel to another flat, hard surface like a wall) and hang a few of these. With enough coverage, the difference should be quite noticeable.

Patience with restore time. Tiles may take a full week to fully restore. Great tiles!
The tiles were not all the same size or hue when they were first delivered but they restore. Patience.Photo number three I posted demonstrates the 8 tiles that were smaller that the others. Each pile has 8 tiles in it. One pile is way larger.I gave it from Monday to Thursday to restore to its intended 2 inch size BUT 8 did not. They actually look different. 8 are faded one inch tiles.Another week the tiles almost opened to the same size as seen in the 5th photo. After a couple of weeks tiles are pretty much the same size and you don't notice a color difference. They actually look cool up.Going to order more.I just got more of these amazing tiles and finished my wall!Perfect! I'm very happy and my neighbor has not banged on the wall to turn off tv since putting them up.As a former dj I can honestly say I am impressed.

This is great for the price but you need to consider the time to soak and dry them.
These have a good thickness and great for this price. However, I did not expect how hard it to make them alive from vacuum wrapping. A small instruction to do that was instruction. It says, soaks them 1 or 2 min and dries them. Sounds like it is so simple. But I ordered 48 pieces total. It means I needed a lot of water and a bucket (I used just a size plastic container). I needed more than 1 hour to soak all of them. I needed to squeeze them in the water at least twice to get a good result. Also, I need to find a way to dry everything. I believe it is the hardest part. I could find some good metal net. But it was not easy to find a place to put wet sponges. Also, I needed to wait for them dry one day.So, if you do not have money and have buckets and a place to dry them, this item must be 5 stars item.

Easy to install, not the best soundproofing
Arrived on time, easy to cut to size and install. Used on thin walls with no insulation. Honestly adding insulation provides way more soundproofing than adding these over the walls. Even edge to edge on both sides of the walls, sound still easily gets in. Tested before and after. Absorbs less than 50% of sound if I had to guess. I will look for better quality next time (especially considering the cost of these).Works well but not great.
