KalaZiricote Concert Ukulele - High Gloss Natural

This is my first ukulele so I don't have a lot of expertise on this instrument. But my observations are that this is a beautiful ukulele. The wood grain is absolutely lovely. The sound is very nice. The finish is great, glossy and no blemishes. There are no sharp fret edges. I did notice that the E and the A string intonation goes sharp up the neck from the 4th to about the 8th fret where it gradually goes back in tune by the 12th fret. I did not change strings yet, so that may make a difference in the intonation problems.The reason I did not give this ukulele more stars is because I believe that the ukulele I got was used and returned. My ukulele came with a strap button installed at the tailblock. The photo of the uke in the listing did not show a button. The Kala website also indicated that this instrument does not come with a button preinstalled. The button itself was installed okay, perhaps a bit off center, but I doubt that is noticeable to anyone but me.Again, I really like this ukulele. The sound is pleasing to me and I am enjoying learning on such a beautiful instrument. I am concerned, however, that this ukulele was preowned. Perhaps I should look at the strap button as a "bonus", but then I question why did the previous purchaser return it? Is there some flaw somewhere that I am not experienced enough to detect? When an item is returned, does someone check it before putting it back in inventory to resell? I have not decided if I will be returning this preowned ukulele or keeping it, but I wanted to share my experience with other prospective purchasers.

I am obsessed with this ukulele! It’s absolutely gorgeous and perfect in every way. This is my third KALA and my first uke with glossy finish, and I am just loving the feel of its quality and its sound. The neck is satin which makes playing easy, and the fret dressing is really well done, allowing me to play fast and smoothly. A lot of pictures of this uke I saw had a much lighter rosewood on the fretboard but mine is so dark it’s almost black which I love. It came with Aquila nylgut strings and the sound is so clean and warm. This ukulele is my most expensive so far and worth every penny. I highly recommend it for intermediate to advanced players!

I’m a beginner Uke player and wanted something better than a cheap Uke. I bought one that was made locally but it was super-soprano size and I’m more comfortable with a concert size. This caught my eye due to it’s looks, and the reviews said it sounded as good as it looks. They were right! Very happy I spent the money. You really do get what you pay for, and if you aren’t sure, just do it! Life is short!!!

I did my research on the internet to buy this ukulele. This ukulele was featured on two prominent lists and I read the reviews. it had what I wanted. I wanted to have the best sound quality that I could afford. I am very pleased with the beautiful sound quality, intonation, and action on the frets. it was a bonus that this ukulele is so beautiful too with it’s rare woods and high gloss finish. As a Classical musician who teaches, I delight in using this fine instrument.

Beautiful instrument. Great sound and looks gorgeous. Really enjoying playing. Am an intermediate level this was perfect step up from my beginner ukulele.

I love Kala ukes. They make one for every price range but each is at the top of its class. This one is no different. Good action, sweet clear sound with good projection. And it looks gorgeous. Highly recommend. Now on to my next Kala, hopefully a tenor.

Absolutely gorgeous! Gloss body, natural finish on the neck. The sustain is lovely, the notes have a nice ring to it. The action is good, came with Aquila Nyglut strings, and I'm extremely pleased with the play-ability of this ukulele. As an owner of several ukulele's, I'm very happy to add this one to my collection.

Good, not mind-blowing.It's the most expensive ukulele I own, yet it's not the first one I pick up. It looks gorgeous, and that's exactly what you're paying for.

I own several guitars and this is my first ukulele. It reminds me of my exotic wood ovation guitar. It is unique and a beautiful sounding instrument.
