HohnerHOM1896017 Marine Band Classic in C Harmonica

Had it arrive with some muted notes. 2draw and 10blow. No problem, I know how to fix breathy reeds.The covers on the reedplates are riveted on though rather than screwed. Seems to be a stylistic choice but it does make it impossible to fix the reeds when necessary or to dial in their responsiveness. Which even if they worked properly out of the box I would still do for faster playing.So I had to rip the covers off to fix the reeds.Sooner or later you are going to need to get at the reeds to fix something so this just seems like a dumb way to do things. Only hohner seems to do this and only on their marine harmonicas so I'll just avoid those in the future I guess, it's a nuisance.

I've also got the blues harp and this is superior. It is easier to play, easier to bend notes and the tone is much superior. Really pleased with the purchase.ps I'm still rubbish but I enjoy myself, now I enjoy playing even more.

Ive read a lot of great reviews on this item so i was disappointed on the quality when ir arrived as some of the metal is crooked. It doesnt impact sound, but visually it takes points from quality for sure.

Well known, traditional harmonica. Good for beginners and experienced players alike. Good tone as expected. Will bend very nicely . Slight misgivings about dismantling for cleaning as fixings are pins not screws. Could do with a little less tradition and a bit more convenience!

Bought this harmonica with the intention of learning how to play. It’s well made has a great sound and has excellent reviews as a starter harp. Very pleased with my purchase. Highly recommended.
