56-Egg Automatic Incubator/Hatcher/Turner with LCD Display

I bought one that looks exactly like it (Nest Choice Products 48-egg Automatic turner), cheaper, also from Amazon before I bought this Chimera. The other seemed to maintain temperature and humidity better, though BOTH ARE MEDIOCRE. They are the SAME SIZE. Difference is there is one more "8 egg strip" for turning. They DO work. Buy a "digital mini read hygrometer/thermostat" (by Avianweb, on Amazon) for more PRECISE temp and humidity readings. Each incubator is going to be different. You will have better hatch rates if you keep temps and humidity in proper ranges. With this one (and the other), set your temp at the highest safe temp for hatching. I use 38.3¤C. The incubator will heat to that temp, before the heater cuts off, will stay there a minute or so, then begin working again as the temperature drops to about 37.5 (99.5¤F). This will keep the eggs at a good hatching temperature. An air circulating fan runs to distribute the heat fairly evenly.HUMIDITY: I use SPONGES. Regular dish sponge. Approximately 1/2 will keep humidity at 55% (depending on the 'bator), and a whole one, at about 65%, or higher which is desired for day 18 thru hatching. You have to play with it. If you put water in, and humidity is too high, you have to take it out, sponges you can just cut to size, and re-wet daily.I LIKE MY INCUBATOR, BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I bought them for the auto-turning. They are a good deal value to product, at 79.00 - 89.00, which is what I paid for the two CHINESE MADE (regardless of name) incubators. If you see the price increase that I noted, recently on Amazon (to 129.00) spend your money on a BETTER INCUBATOR! You will have better hatch rates with less work with a better incubator.

I dislike ALOT a this incubator the mostly the setting. They are a pain in the ass nothing to tell u where to set them and cant change some and i have to put water in it 2X a day and the first batch nothing hatched im going to try it again and then if anything happens i will cahnge my review if not im getting a new diffrent incubator.

It appeared to keep the temperature and the humidity steady so it did a good job there. The incubator would be so much better if the plastic had been clear rather than frosty. It is very difficult to see the hatch which took the fun out of it for someone that is doing it for the chicks and the fun. The grandkids were excited but continued to mention they could not see it clearly.

Not that good

the bad: most of my chickens eggs died. constantly beeps and is always low on humiditygood: i hatched two of my eggs successfully. got two very healthy birds. its easy to assemble and install. works great if you have a separate barn to put it in and if you have more water.

Im a first time incubator user (guinea fowl). Bought this unit because of the affordable price and positive reviews. I broke the fan accidentally and emailed seller. They offered a replacement for a cheap price and were very polite..... I've now hatched 3 batches and have had over 90% hatching rate (not bad for a novist!). Word of advice - I used an additional thermometer and hygrometer to ensure accurate temperature and humidity - everything went great!

This thing will shut off every once in awhile. I have lost dozens and dozens of duck hatchlings because of it. I'll never buy another one.

This incubator was nicer and better built than I expected. I just got it and have been testing it, the controlls work well and it is keeping a very accurate temperature without any fluctuations. I looked at quite a few incubators on Amazon and was a little hesitant getting one on Amazon due to the lack good reviews / number of reviews. So writing one here, I recommend this unit.
