Type Jumping and Sensitivity Issues Made Keyboard Unusable
I bought this keyboard hoping it would be a cheaper alternative to a name-brand keyboard. I loved the light features and had no trouble getting it connected. For the first day, it worked great, but soon after I began to experiencing problems with the touchpad sensitive, the type jumping and deleting content while typing, and the keyboard not holding a charge. The jumping while typing made the keyboard nearly unusable. I couldn't even finish typing this review until after my new keyboard had arrived. Save yourself the time and the hassle and don't bother with this one.

Garbage but great customer service
This product is awful. I have had it less than 8 weeks and the "b", "n", and arrow keys do not work. The mouse pad is so sensitive that when you hover slightly, it skips all over the paper that you're typing. The battery does not last. Poor, poor quality. Update 8/18: excellent customer service. Went above and beyond. Will update rating because of the timely resolution.

It works well
The keyboard on my surface laptop was getting old and the covering was peeling. I got this keyboard to replace it. After charging it I connected it to my laptop and it works great. The keyboard is a little bouncy but once you get used to it it is fine. I like that it lights up when being used. I still don't know how to keep it lit up all the time. It goes on for a long time with a single charge but I keep it charging all the time. One of the things I don't like is that when I close my laptop for carrying the keyboard makes a bit chunky. That is the reason for the 4 star rating.

Flimsy and Doesn't Hold A Charge
Product feels flimsy and cheaply made. It hardly lasted a year and stopped holding charge. Have to constantly plug it on to use it more than 10 mile. On top of that, the USB port doesn't properly hold a cord so any slight movement stops it from charging. Had a similar keyboard that last over 3 years from heavy use (grad school and a full time job). I hardly use my computer now and it still stopped working within year

Not Recommended. Causes Surface 7 Pro to reset when folded back
Overall, a reasonable idea for the keyboard but a terrible implementation. 1) When the keyboard is "docked" (folded behind the Surface), Surface does NOT behave correctly. There's actually two parts to this. 1a) Keyboard does NOT disable when docked. Move your hand on the keyboard and random things can happen. There is a simple solution, turn off the keyboard. Not one that should be necessary, but simple none the less. 1b) I expect the magnets in the keyboard aren't in the same place (or maybe they're put in backwards) from the Microsoft keyboard. Without moving the Surface, with the keyboard docked, suddenly the screen would go blank. Hit the power button, and nothing happens. Occasionally, the screen would flash. When I'd finally get the Surface to come on, sometimes it would immediately black out again, sometimes it would work fine. Finally looked in the Event Logs and found the Surface thought the cover was closed, so it turned itself off. So, docking the keyboard behind the screen, the Surface may believe the keyboard is over the screen and turn itself off. Remove the keyboard, everything is fine. Re-attach, problem easily repeatable. Therefore, problem with keyboard. 2) Maybe Microsoft doesn't publish the pinouts but it seems like charging the keyboard from the Surface would be a good idea. (Preferably with an option to not take Surface battery.) With this keyboard, you need two charging cables, one for keyboard and one for Surface. 3) Pairing up the Surface and the keyboard was easy. 4) Keyboard has a power button, so you can turn it on and off. If the button has any text or description on it at all, I can't see it. I can feel a button exists, so once I knew it existed, pressing it isn't difficult, but it sure isn't visible to my eyes. 5) Keyboard feels a bit off. Not sure the keyboard layout is all that much different than the Surface keyboard, and I will admit I haven't tried using it on a desk, but it feels like the keys are shifted somewhat to the right. Overall, it is neat being able to separate the keyboard from the unit and type some distance away. I haven't really tried to come up with a range for it, but the Surface is only so big, so I can't see thinking you can control it from yards away. Maybe with an external monitor/tv, but not overly useful. Implementation has major problems. I mostly use my Surface to read books in portrait tablet mode. The keyboard actually makes it more comfortable to hold with the case that I've got, but with the Surface going on and off randomly, seemingly without moving, makes this keyboard absolutely useless. Overall, I suggest getting the official Microsoft keyboard. No ability to use it remotely, but it can handle all the various positions much better than this one can.
