Waiting to Begin

Quite hard to keep reading and wait for the turn around in the story, probably because I couldn’t wait for Bessie to have the nerve to sort things out. Very well written and revealing how this family kept going in the same way for so long but supported each other, with forgiveness, support and love.

I loved the raw honesty being a child of the eighties it bought back many memories.Although not quite in my fifties I have been married 26 years and totally empathise with Bessie drifting apart from Mario

The only thing I didn't care for was the switching between the past and present in each chapter.However, I couldn't stop reading.Amanda Prowse books are always full of twists and turns.

Loved it great read, it drew you in and was quite like real life. Very relatable, would recommend to anyone.

This book was beautifully written and took its time and was steady pace in terms of plot development. I love that we got to go back in time and see how this impacted the main characters present life and future decisions. Lovely and warm read :)

Brilliantly written, an everyday storyline so gripping,so good, you felt very emotion, giving you a smile and sadness at the same time, couldn't put the book down. Thank you

Really enjoyed

I found the first two thirds of this book to be emotionally draining….but it all made sense at the end. Well written as always, but left me feeling a little exhausted! I hope the next book I read is more cheerful!
