1 Pound Copper Bar Bullion Paperweight - .999 Pure Copper Bar Bullion with Element Design By Unique Metals

PROS – These are really just a novelty item, but they sure are shiny and pretty. Yes they are pure copper, yes a magnet does not stick to them, not sure why anyone's would, maybe if you got a knock-off product. I've purchased a few different bars from Unique Metals, regardless of casting locations they do produce genuine products. You can just imagine these large copper bars are shiny gold stackers if you get a few and clink them around, that's the dream. Pretty heavy at 1 lb. I've purchased a few other metals, put them on a scale and they do weigh-in at just a hair over 1 lbs. Interesting to see how different metals have different densities, like zinc versus aluminum. Probably won't fetch much in precious metals collector's market or rare bullion, but in time all precious metals will get more expensive, maybe just not as quickly or steep as current gold, silver, platinum and palladium. Value is probably closer to a melted rate, although there are some really nice collectors coins in pure copper if you're looking to stock up. CONS – Had to send one copper bar back – Being heavy they do get dinged a bit during shipping even though they're wrapped thinly in bubble wrap, could be wrapped a little better so they don't slide around so much. The bar I sent back had a huge finger print permanently embedded and etched into the gloss and copper itself, like acid burn or wet paint, not something you could wipe or even buff out. Would have thought these would be handled with gloves off the production floor, maybe not always. The replacement bar had no finger prints but slight scuffing, not enough to be very noticeable or worth returning. Some metals shine more than others, copper has a pretty good luster. Kind cool and neat to have around or even add to your pile of collector's metals.

Very cool gift! I bought it for my husband for our 23rd (copper) anniversary. He loves it and so do I! The bar is beautiful and worth the money in it. So far no tarnishing but it’s only been a couple of months. The quality is fantastic!

This is nice bar of copper with a high gloss finish. It's so shinny that if you are going to use it for anything other than a display piece it will show every mark, scratch and ding. It was what I wanted except for one thing, it's too big! It's a bit over 6 inches in length and I need it to be around 5.24 (my mistake not the vendors). It's going back and I'm kind of bummed because none of the vendors with a 5.25 inch bar have a copper bar with the high gloss finish.

The size of the bar is a perfect size. It's a thin bar and one pound. It's great for the price that it is right now. It's also great for a collectible, just like you do with copper coins or anything else that you would collect.

Very nice and shiny, however it did have about a 1/2 inch scratch on the front. I would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for the scratch.

I love the engraving of the element symbol on these metal bars.

I didn’t want a big gaudy (imo) pure copper water dispenser that was a PIA to clean and put this in the bottom of what I have instead for the pure copper effect. It looks great in there aesthetically and will be easy to clean whenever needed.

But the cost to mine it, mint it, transportation, energy costs, Amazons cut- so here we are at $40/lb. It is really a beautiful pound of copper, nicely polished.
