Friend Scheme Paperback – 27 July 2021

Loved this book, the story is great and has some seriously good twists and turns. Its a cute BL that doesn't end the way you think. Its been a while since I read it but I look back on it fondly and would recommend it to others looking for a good book. Its an underrated Mafia X Good guy romance

The Friend Scheme is the second novel by author Cale Dietrich. His first novel the Love Interest which was published in 2018 and was named a rainbow list selection book in the same year. Cale has this talent of creating characters that you buy into and want to know more about from the very first page.The mob is something that is used a lot in books. But this has a fresh new take on it. It’s nice to see how the romance develops between Matt and Jason, who are a pretty unlikely pairing. It has a Romeo and Juliet-esque element to it which makes it an even more enjoyable read. It’s on you won’t regret adding to your to-read list as it has it all, romance, gangsters and a plot that keeps you wondering what will happen next.

the end was rushed but it was very food

I'm a sucker for a queer love story and this one was on my TBR list.The story follows Matt, from a rich, powerful family full of criminals. Matt meets a guy and falls in love. That guy just happened to be the police commissioner ( spoiler alert).I was expecting a Romeo and Juliet happy ending kind of story, but i received something without substance, anticlimactic with a happy ending.The story is entertaining and the action goes on and on and on. It kept me on my feet, i read it in one sitting, but felt superficial. I couldn't connect with the characters, i couldn't feel something for them and in the end i wanted to throw my kindle away.I'm grateful for thelat happy ending, but something was missing and fell flat.What i appreciate are Matt's choices. He has all my respect for not betraying his family and for sticking with them, even if that meant breaking his own heart l.I never was a huge fan of contemporary pop culture name drops, it feels like the author is trying to hard to connect with readers.

Não se deixe enganar, colega leitor.A história se ambienta na briga de duas famílias criminosas, e no sentimento de Matt não pertencer àquele mundo. A narrativa é franca, direta, como a personalidade de Matt indica. Jason representa uma fuga daquilo, a possibilidade de ser normal.A trama faz com que dúvidas surjam no que parece ser o início de um relacionamento entre os dois, o que divide um já dividido Matt. Quanto mais eles se aproximam, mais ansioso o leitor fica. Há uma reviravolta na história que eu tira qualquer presunção do autor em achar que adivinhou o que aconteceria, o que torna tudo mais interessante.Livro recomendado!

Irgendwie hat es ein bisschen Andrew Minyard-Vibes abgegeben. Aber schon beim Klappentext habe ich gemerkt, dass es nicht in Richtung AFTG geht. Trotzdem klang die Story spannend. Und das war sie auch! ❤️Sowohl Matt, als auch Jason habe ich schnell in mein Herz geschlossen. Beide sind solche Nerds, ich konnte ihnen gar nicht widerstehen. 💕🫶🏻Trotz des Settings bleibt die Geschichte zum Großteil leicht, auch wenn hin und wieder Dunkleres aufblitzt.Auch der ein oder andere überraschende Twist war dabei. 😁Nur das Ende ging mir ein wenig zu schnell. Well. The Story is nothing like this. Nonetheless: It is a great story. I love the nerdy characters and the easy way they interact. The Plot-Twist were great and I had a lot of fun with this book. Only the end came too quickly and not all questions were answered. But I can still recommend this novel. 🫶🏻
