Review stated that the sides are not stitched, and are just "raw edges", though the picture looks like they are finished on sides; which is true?

Would you consider the charcoal gray a fairly dark gray? Very sheer or does it filter some sunlight fairly well?

What is the hem measurement? I am trying to match another one.
