Superb historical work!
This book provides an important historical review and insightful discussion. It is a very worthwhile read--one that would make a fitting gift to honor Girl Scout leaders and older Girl Scouts (would be a great gift to someone for achieving their Gold Award)!

A very good story of Girl Scout's Founder Daisy Low
I enjoyed this book greatly. I read it slowly to catch all the historical details flowing alongside Juliette's/Daisy's life. The perspective of a bi-country lifestyle was fascinating. The connections to English Royal and Military members, the activities, the estates, the European politics, and bouncing back to The States and its developing society during the same periods of time, was very interesting.I set this book out to share with my cousin, a teacher who enjoys anthropology and independent women stories.

A perfect book club selection.
If you are looking for a fascinating read about a brave, adventurous female role model, this book is it. After reading about the remarkable founder of the Girl Scouts, I wish that I could have met Juliette Gordon Low. This book will take you on a journey with this bold and brilliant woman who overcame deafness, a philandering husband and the stifling mores of her time. At age 51, an age when many women would have given in to a gloomy spinsterhood, she instead used her talents and her fortune to impact millions of girls around the world. Inspiring. A perfect book club selection.

An incredible second act tale
A skillfully written biography about a woman who had a second act late in life, and an amazing story that needed to be told.

Disappointing
More a history of the Civil War than a biography of Juliette Low.

Fabulous!
I've been a Girl Scout for about 60 years and read everything I can get my hands on about Juliette Gordon Low. That said, I learned some things about her from this book that I've never seen or heard of before. The book is wonderful and is well worth reading. Our "Daisy" was a remarkable person who was ahead of her time in her lifetime, and would be ahead of her time even today.
