I decided to get this air mattress because of how it fits on my truck, i have read countless reviews about how the battery is the achilles heel of this product. I received it today and used the hand pump to make sure nothing was wrong with the mattress (arms got a workout) i have put the battery to charge and will update that tomorrow. Other than that the mattress is comfortable and its raining right now but hope to put some pictures once on my f150Edit: the pump works! Finally set it up with the napier sport truck tent and its awesome!

Great quality materials, but description included a DC powered pump that does not come with this model (ppi405.) This model comes with a battery pack powered pump which works fine. The portable DC powered pump can be purchased separately which is only a few dollars more. I would buy again as the bed, standing alone, deserves 5 stars. The bed is a very unique design that maximizes utility of the truck bed more so than any other design that I've seen.The bed is comfortable, holds air well and can be very firm if desired. I will update the review after I do some winter camping.

My husband has had this since I believe November/December and it has held up well. It’s comfy and durable and fits perfectly in the bed of his 2020 Toyota Tacoma. He loves it. My only issue is because I don’t like small spaces is, there isn’t much space between you and ceiling of the shell. It made me personally kinda Claustrophobic. But I know it has to be thicker to reach over the wheel wells so maybe on a hot summer night without the shell I could manage. But he doesn’t have an issue so he loves it. Great for hunting or long road trips and you need to stop to sleep.

This would be a great product if it weren't for the battery. The battery is old tech nickle metal hydride and a small one in terms of energy output. You won't get more than one inflate / deflate cycle before needing to recharge. Without a good battery, you will be better off sending the mattress to recycling because it will let you down when you arek tired and in need of sleep buy a couple of memory foam pads instead.The air bed is failing after 1 year and one day. The internal structure is coming apart and allowing the mattress to bulge badly in that area. This could possibly be from a hot afternoon sunny day. This mattress is not durable like they make it sound. Since the concept and intent is irreplaceable, after one year, I had to purchase another. So now I've spent over $500. I'm not sure I made a good decision.I ordered and received a new identical mattress. After inflating it and using it one time it deflated itself in about 2+ hours. I leak checked everything including the seams using soap and water solution. I found one major leak at a seam under the wheel well area. I will be returning this for a replacement.So I received my replacement and it lasted for 364 days and now will not hold air and completely unuseable. On day short of a year and it expired. I was very careful with not overinflate, but it just didnt hold up to light use. The problem is quality. The lack of. Save yourself the trouble and just buy a memory foam pad or two instead.

Loved the mattress it was all I wanted and expected except the battery was dead. I tried charging it overnight but it did not take a charge, the hand pump is a cheap plastic pump works but it very cheaply made. Where it not for those two things I would give the mattress a 5.4/13/21: Update, called Pittman customer service last week they were great to deal with, made good and sent me a new battery overnight. It works great would definitely recommend Pittman and the mattress.

This truck bed is super nice and durable. It inflates super fast and the deflate feature pulls a nice vacuum. People seem very upset about the battery pack being nickel metal hydride. But for something like this, that's perfect. They are very cheap, have very good charge retention and are good for a few hundred cycles. Considering that I get 5-6 inflate/deflate cycles per charge, this battery will likely last longer than the bed does. The bed itself is of very sturdy construction and has even withstood the weight of me (250 lbs) along with my 70 lb dog and his nails digging in to the mattress.There are some less than ideal features with the mattress, however. The battery doesn't automatically shut off when full during charging. So you have to keep an eye on it so it doesn't overcharge and ruin the battery (my guess is that most people who have battery problems a have done this).Also, the bed is a "universal fit." Yes, there are different sizes for different beds, but even with that the fit is never perfect. My dakota has a bed that is too wide for the Mid-size mattress, but too small for the Full-size mattress. The mattress is also too tall for the wheel wells by several inches; which combined with the mattress being too narrow makes both sides of the mattress extremely unstable. I have to stuff the wheel well cutouts with fabric, pillows, etc. in order to support the sides of the mattress properly so that I don't get sucked in between the sides of the mattress and my truck bed while sleeping and get stuck. I have now ordered the wheel well inserts with the hopes that I can partially inflate them to fill the gap between the cutouts and my wheel wells. I suspect this will work quite well, but it kinda sucks that I have to do this to begin with. Out of the box, the mattress is only usable as a twin size area in the middle of the mattress.

This mattress was a perfect fit for my 2015 GMC Sierra pick up. It is made of heavy material that appears very durable. It inflated easily inside my truck tent and it has an additional piece for the tailgate that gives me a queen size bed. I had an issue with the battery for the automatic inflation operation. I called Pittman Outdoors and they had a new battery to me in two days. They were extremely nice on the phone. Good customer service is as important to me as a good product and you won't get better service than Pittman offers.
