It is a good tool to have in the garage
This product is as advertised and worked well for many uses around the house. It has a good feel and locks positively when extending the arm out. Be careful when you extend it the entire way as it does become a little heavy, but just about anything would given the length. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a tool of this nature

Works good with Twister Fruit Picker
The Mr. Long Arm looked like a good extension pole so I decided to give it a try at the 7' up to to 15' size. I've never had an extension pole type device and wanted something I could use the with the Twister Fruit Picker, which has straight threads. I lucked out when the Mr. Long Arm arrived since it also had straight threads, which were aluminum and nice and deep. The two fit together although the Twister Fruit Picker's threads are not very deep so it did not bottom out at all but got plenty tight just with hand force. The Mr. Long Arm is a high quality fiberglass pole outer with brushed aluminum internal slider that has holes every 6" or so with one push-button clicker at the end to lock it at a hole. The button seems to almost be directional, although it's not marked as such. For example, if you push on the lower part of the button the inner extension goes into the handle very easily. Also if you push on the top part of the button then the extension comes out very easily. Pushing in the center was not as successful in either direction. I found that a bit of cleaning/deburring of each hole helped the clicker slide quite nicely as well. The unit was delivered on Oct 17 and the date of manufacture was Sept 14 of the same year, so it was very new. It said it was made in the USA on the sticker on the handle. The unit seems to be of very sturdy quality. There were no instructions with the handle. The only instructions that would have been helpful would have been tips about the button.I was picking apples with my setup in less than 15 minutes. I feel the Mr. Long Arm will be very useful for a great many years. It's a commercial/professional grade unit and I expect to have it for a very long time. I paid about $39 with free shipping in 2011.

So much safer....
They say the secret to a long life with a tin roof...is keeping it clean. So, I got this (along with a stiff brush) so I could cleaned off my shed's tin roof safely from the ground. My shed is underneath several large old oak trees and gets very dirty often. I have hated having to climb a ladder to get up there myself and even with a good blower and/or a long broom to push things down the roof...there was always spots where I had issues reaching and/or feeling safe about reaching. But with the long arm...I could just stand on the ground and with it extended it's entire 16 feet with stiff brush attachment, I was able to get the entire roof. I felt so much safer, didn't have to drag out the heavy ladder and/or move it all around the building (which is a chore unto itself), nor did I have to put myself in a risky place on the steep pitch of the roof. I had no problem handling the long arm and brush extended to it's 16 foot max. Although at first it was very easy...but by the time I finished with both sides of the roof my arms were a little tired (so I can see why a much larger job might be harder, but I thing with a little practice you would build up your arm muscles and not have that problem either). I was so much happier, and felt so much safer, and there were no untouched spots that I couldn't reach. I love it. No more having to climb up on the roof or even get the ladder out. Wish I had bought this years ago. All that worry...all that dread...now I'll be able to keep a clean roof without all that worry or dread.

Nice Idea. Poor Design.
Many extender poles twist to lock them into the desired length. This one has a cool "push button" that allows it to slide and then lock into place. For me, this worked great twice... Then, it broke...under reasonable use. The button failed. After taking it apart, we realized that the spring-alternative mechanism that causes the button to work had failed. We tried repairing the unit with the use of a spring, but still it failed. Perhaps others will have greater success than us, but for now, we've drilled some holes all the way through the interior slide unit, and we've gotten a bolt to lock it into place. "You gotta do what you gotta do" sometimes.

Don't know what I would do without this!
Although I think this is a little pricey for what it is, it works really, really well for high ceilings. The extender portion slides in and out smoothly without catching and it's light enough to make maneuvering easy. It's also easy to grip. Even when almost fully extended, the pole is rigid enough to hold the angle you need. I initially needed it for replacing bulbs in track lighting on really high ceilings but I've found so many other uses for it including adjusting/cleaning high blinds. So far I have used it with Mr. LongArm 3030 Smart Bulb Changer Kit and Bayco LBC-100 Standard Incandescent Bulb Changer which both worked great. I'm planning on purchasing more attachments as I discover more and more uses. This is ESSENTIAL if you have high ceilings!

A bit unwieldy
Arrived in one undamaged piece, kudos UPS. :)Made in the USA, fairly heavy duty, but somewhat unwieldy due to the fact that the heavier pole is what extends further. Good exercise I guess. I use it together with the "Gotcha Sprayer Pro" to annihilate wasp nests around the house, the season just started here. Quality pole that'll last a lifetime, I hope. :)

Too long
This was a sturdy and well built pole. However, it was too long and cumbersome to use in my condo. I would have preferred if it came in sections. However, it is clearly described and I should have read the description better. Might have worked better in a larger home.

Feels strudy and works
I was looking for a quality extension pole and decided to go with the The Mr. Long Arm (2-4 Feet) pole. I have tried twist lock poles and found they were always untwisting and changing size. This pole feels sturdy and locks into place with several different positions. I'm 6 feet tall and I am painting rooms with 8 foot ceiling and the 2-4 foot pole is just the right size for me. I'm not sure if this will be long enough for 9 foot ceilings. This is a quality item that I should have bought years ago.

Worth every penny
Worked perfectly to change regular sized bulbs in my shop. Was very pleased how sturdy it seemed even when fully extended.

Poor quality
The handle doesn’t stay in it’s lock position since I purchased it this spring. I do not recommend this handle.

It's broken when shipped to me
The extention rod can not be locked into place even when it's new. Poor quality. Better to get similar product from local store.
