Good for the exam room
I got this for checking kids' throats since for me the wall otoscope light just isn't bright enough, and this is easier to manipulate. The light is very bright, more than needed, and quite "flat" and sharp with a fairly broad cone. It works great. It seems to be sturdy and feels good. Since it's bright, sharp, and sturdy, I can also hand it to kids for them to play with -- a good distraction or entertainment.

I like it, came with dead batteries
I like the idea of the light being able to point straight down. For Astronomy use you can use it without shining the light in others eyes. It comes recommended by some heavy weights in the astronomy circles. I have tried it and I think it will work well. Came with dead batteries. 🤷♂️

Good as a flashlight though
WAYYYYY TOO BRIGHT SHINE IN ANYONE'S EYES TO TEST PUPILS. Good as a flashlight though, but I bought it to use to test pupils in the hospital because a review said they used it to test pupils.

Great small flashlight, love it!
Love this flashlight!I'm something of a connoisseur regarding flashlights and this is one of my top five picks.It's compact and perfect to keep in the glove compartment.Nice tight, uniform spotlight.About the size and shape of a thick pen.The beam cast is a perfect circle, cool!I highly recomend.

Great Medical Penlight
I use this penlight to check patients' pupil responses, and to see in their mouth/throat. It is a great balance of being bright but not too bright. It will evoke a pupillary response even in a well-lit ED, but is not so bright as to leave the patient seeing stars. Also, it has a nice sharp edge (i.e. transitions from light to dark on nice fine line, rather than fading at the edges) which makes it perfect for checking pupils. It is plenty bright enough to see the back of someone's throat as well. It also takes rechargeable batteries, unlike many of the cheap medical penlights.

This is a great pen torch
This is a great pen torch. I am a final year medical student and I echo what was said before, definitely do NOT use this for testing pupils because it is way too bright. But it's great for looking at the throat, and just a cool penlight to have in general.

Quality made, shines a concentrated spotlight with no halo. Fits perfectly in my sharpie holder on my snip pouch, life is good.
