Spooky Mansion Scented Jar Candle - Highly Scented - Made with Plant Based Wax - Handmade in The USA

When one reads a candle scent description and it's not an obvious food/floral/smelly smell, you have to wonder about how the interpretation will come across. What if what I think a Spooky Mansion smells like isn't what you think a spooky mansion smells like?Guise. This smells like a Spooky Mansion. Serious.Someone mentioned wood planks in their review. Yes. This. To me, it smells like that house that has been abandoned. No one knows how long. The yard has gone to seed, but it's not quite over run. Weird how it always seems to maintain that same constant state of sort of decay. It always seems cloudy there, even on sunny days. The house that kids dare each other to travel the walkway, touch the porch railing and run back, terrified and out of breath. Did one of the curtains move? I swear it did. The group runs off, terrified, laughing.And then one night, many years later, with the bravado that comes with being in your teens, someone ups the ante. "I dare you to go inside." There's no way you can back down. You tell yourself it's just a creepy old house in disrepair and no one's lived there in years because, well, no one wants to. It's old and starting to fall apart. It's TOTALLY not haunted. Right?But as you take the steps, one by one, wondering if your shaking hands can be seen from the edge of the walkway where your friends are watching, you question if this was such a good idea. You give them a grin that masks your heart beating frantically in your chest. You definitely saw the curtain move. As a matter of fact, it looks like there's someone inside.You grasp the doorknob. Turn it. The air that pushes back into your face is of slightly damp wood. Peeling aged wallpaper. Ancient, intricately carved furniture covered with sheets. Curtains that have been drawn for quite sometime. Monsters that may or may not be in the closet, or waiting just past the doorway.You turn on your heel after touching the banister according to the dare and the door slams behind you seemingly of it's own accord as you run back to your waiting friends, losing yourself to adrenaline fueled laughter. Back on the porch, the curtain falls back into place as you disappear into the night.That is what I smell within this candle.

Been waiting to be able to get another one of these, I've tried a whole lot of mixing different oils together but until I actually have time to perfect I still enjoy having already made candles to scent the room. Also this candle in particular has a pretty strange noise to it while it burns which seems to add some more atmosphere :D

Not sure what I expected, when I ordered it, but since I am a big fan of the Campfire Smoke one that Candeo makes, I decided to give it a shot. It has a nice wood smell, so I guess it is the cedar, however, it's not like a cedar chest. It's more subtle than that. Also, I pick up some other scents that give this a certain complexity. It's not a "one note" candle, which for me is a plus. I like this very much and I am sure I will be ordering it again and again. I hope "Spooky Mansion" is a scent that will be continued past the Halloween season. UPdate after burning... Definitely picking up a scent of sweet grass.

It's hard to describe the smell, but I agree with the description other reviewers mentioned. It does smell like a spooky mansion. I love it! It's so interesting. I've never smelled anything like this. I like to collect candles, especially Halloween themed candles. This is now one of my favorites.

The glittery wax is pretty and the wooden wick makes a cool crackling sound, but it smells like mold and yard clippings. I know that's the point, but the smell is very off-putting, almost nauseating, not "creepy." I wanted to just use it as decoration at that point, but the jar makes it look like I forgot to put the jam away. Overall, very disappointed.

Don't bother to buy it. It smells like men's aftershave and will give you a headache.

I felt that based on the quality this candle it should have been a little bit cheaper. The presentation was really nice, I like the look of it and the label is really pretty, the wax has a really cool mossy green color. The smell is fine but not too powerful when lit, in the description is says that the wick is supposed to have a crackling sound, even though it did have a thin wood wick there was no crackling sound.
