Q: Do you need the original game to play this expansion?

It comes with enough factions for a two player game. The main game is not necessarily needed. But I would still recommend getting either more expansions or the base set.

The sellers don't necessarily control the listing creation so, whoever created this (Amazon or a 3rd party seller) chose the wrong picture: the sellers are simply listing their UPC's and Amazon is matching them to this listing.We have contacted Amazon about the problem - hopefully they will fix it soon but, hey: good catch :)

No, sorry. This is an starter deck for Legend Of The Five Rings, a CCG. This is starter deck is quite a few years old and is not compatible with the Smash Up! game in any way.
