Bought this to replace my weather worn hozelock fittings which were leaking. Dissapointed as none of the hose connectors have a shut off valve and the O rings were poor so leaked, so no further on really.Replaced the O rings , £2.99 kit from Aldi, could have bought pukka hozelock for all the money shelled out

I need to join up some hose pipes, so decided to try these connectors, in the package, there is tap connectors, connectors to join 2 hoses and loads of white washers to use with the connectors, there is also rubber washers as well, tried them, haven't leaked and stay joined together, all in all, just what is needed.

I've tried various different hose pipes using these connectors, firstly you unscrew the collar, push the hose onto the connector as far as it will go then screw the collar back on, the collar does up as far as it can possibly go very tight, all looks good, once in use water leaks out from the screw on collar, it seems where you push the hose into isn't a tight enough fit even with the collar fully tightened. Secondly with too much pressure the connector flies off the tap connector, the mechanism just isn't strong enough, seems very poor, the only good bit is the spare washers they provide. Deffo would not recommend or buy again, very disappointed.

If you want super duper hose fittings which will last for a very, very long time then you should be looking for brass ones but these appear to be the same quality as hoselock, plastic but decently made, for a fraction of the price. I have just used some of them to install a watering system in my garden and they are not leaking and click on firmly. I did have to double up a rubber o ring for the tap end but I am fairly certain that has more to do with my tap end than this product which had plenty of o rings to deal with my battered garden tap.

For the price, one has to be a little sceptical, but I've just replaced my broken Hozelock connector and this appears to be a straight swap. A bonus that I didn't expect is that the fittings appear compatible with Hozelock so I can reuse the Hozelok bits that are still intact. One thing worth stating is that they feel a little flimsier than the Hozelocks, so it's possible that although it works perfectly after a five minute trial, it's well possible that they won't stand the test of time. But with six in the packet, I have all the spares I need. And it's not as if the Hozelocks seem to last that long. But on reflection, with plastic being highlighted as not environmentally friendly, maybe I should have invested in a high quality unbreakable adaptor. Maybe next time.
