Q: Would a 20" doll fit inside the 18" doll bassinet?

We have a life size doll. We got her in it. It was tight but it was the Best fit I could find.

Don’t worry about the weight. It’s a very well made carrier. There is no doll too heavy for this. The only thing I would be concerning myself with is the length of the baby doll. Make sure it is compatible with the suggested length of the doll. There was a larger carrier available for longer length dolls.

Q: Does anyone know if this arrives in a box appropriate for gift giving, or jdoes it come in a plain brown box/bag?

If memory serves me well , the soft doll carrier came in a bag!

No, I do not think so. It fit a 12" doll snugly.
