i love these crystals and been using them for years. i live in oklahomas southwest and growing anything here is a challenge because we often go for several weeks without any rain. these crystals save your plants from drying out. i use them in planters, but also inground. in planters i mix about a handful with soil and let them soak up as much water as possible, so the bottom of the planter is basically a little soil and waterfilled crystals, than i mix some more crystals in the rest of the soil until the planter is full, add the plant and rewater really well, after that i usually only have to water once a week and my plants are thriving. for inground plantings i dig a hole at least a foot deep, mix some of that soil with crystals that already filled with water, return the soil/crytalmixture and plant on top of it. this works very well especially for tomatoes and cucumber that have a high water consumption. hope these inspires someone to try the crystals, the price for a pound is much much cheaper than buying a couple of ounces at the gardencenters. i store some of my waterfilled crystals that are ready to use in a small fliptop cooler that i can easy carry around while i work in my garden.

Perfect for the Southwest’s hot dry summer climate. Our local big box store no longer sells a similar product & if I could find it local, it would cost more than double the price for same quantity. Used in pots & large raised bed for herbs & veg. Will be sharing some with neighbors too. Happy it was from a family owned small business!!!

These are hard to find in stores near me but a must have when planting your own pots. I always miss soul, watering beads & time released fertilizer and my plants thrive. Florida heat dries up plants and saving on watering everyday is nice

Mixes in well with soul and should be helpful to plants. Just used it for the first time yesterday.

I live in Texas. I love to garden but here in the hot summers it's almost impossible to keep a garden flourishing. I usually have to water two to three times a day in the summer for my containers. I used this in my potting mix for some dwarf peppers and tomatoes in 10 gallon grow bag bags. It works wonders. I'm now only watering every other day! I also used it in a new greenstalk that I just purchased. I will be buying more to add to my planter boxes and other greenstalks. Going forward, I plan on using this on everything I plant!

This stuff is amazing. We have a small flower farm and not enough day light to get everything watered in a day or so. I put this in the soil when planting and the moisture level stays up even when I do not get a chance to water every few days when it is 90+ outside. A real time and plant saver.

Plants seem to grow better without it. Possibly missused?
