British Army uniforms in 1742: In the art of John Pine
N**T
Expensive for what it is
A collection of prints illustrating the uniforms of cavalry and infantry of the British army in 1742. Whilst the book is a useful contemporary resource for the uniform of the time, it is extremely expensive for what is, esssentially, a super-Osprey paperback. The lack of a modern commentary/discussion regarding the accuracy of the colours used in the depiction of each regiment's facings would also have been useful as I have some doubts as to their accuracy. This period is just before Franklyn's latest work so one may have to flit between the two. My main beef is the price, it is ridiculously expensive for what it is.
