Works well. Great depth. Darker than I expected but not black. Deep rich color. Adds dimension.

I use the shade "intense cocoa" and it is perfect for me. It's a deep, very dark warm brown with a hint of red. I find it to be neutral - not too warm or too cool in tone. It covers grays like a champ. The formula works great for me - but be sure to FULLY rinse or your hair will feel sort of crusty/brittle. If you fully rinse, it will feel soft and healthy, it gives me great shine as well.

Colors well. Stains skin so use vasoline as protection in face. Lasts fairly well to cover grey if you don’t wash your hair more than 2-3 times per week.

Previously went to the salon for my hair coloring, but decided to color on my own and go back to dark hair color. My original hair color is maybe a level 3-4 dark brown, chest length, and straight-ish. I purchased 3 boxes of the Intense Cocoa color and used 2 boxes to do an all-over color. Photo is a just colored and blow-dried hair. Color turned out a chocolately color, so definitely will need time to adjust to the dark hair, but I think its great for this fall, winter season. The dye covered my gray hairs which where scattered throughout my head with patches on the temples. I did dye my roots/grays first, so it sat for like an hour, as I tried to color the rest of my hair after and as fast as I could. Since I had bleached, light brown color on my hair length, the color came out a little lighter, which I think is totally fine since it adds some dimension. The thing I didnt enjoy was that the smell is super strong, so be sure to color in an area where there is a fan or open circulation. Also, color stained my laundry sink as well as my ears, and wrists. Fortunately nothing else stained since I covered the area where I dyed with towels or plastic. I also slathered thin layer of vaseline on my forehead, ears, neck prior, so perhaps it wasnt enough. Hope the color will hold up for awhile. Luckily, I got the 3rd box of color to keep on hand and will just use half to touch up roots when the time comes. And compared to the salon, my hair doesnt feel as soft despite using the provided serum, but I ain’t complaining. $20 bucks for full color refresh saved me $500+ so glad it turned out well!

This is the best box dye that I’ve ever used. Not only is the color picture accurate, but the dye and conditioner left my hair softer and silkier after using it. I used the colors 4.6 and 4.0 to get this beautiful deep chocolate color to my hair. My hair was at a level 9 blonde in the middle to ends and an 8 more near the roots with my roots grown out. I did not use any red filler before applying the brown dye because my hair already had a ginger tone left in it and the 4.6 was red based. I mixed the two dyes evenly in a bowl and applied it to my whole head and roots (except for my blonde skunk stripe). It turned out beautifully. I highly recommend this dye!!! I had my hair lightened to blonde. I stripped my hair with hair color remover after it was lightened. I put permanent red dye, semi-permanent, dark brown, etc. My hair was breaking bad. I actually had a chemical hair cut. My colors kept coming out fading or not taking. I had to build my color to get to brown. Every brown I use didn't do what I wanted. I read the reviews and decided to give this a try. My color came out AMAZING! My hair didn't have as many flyaways. It's been close to 2 weeks and my color still looks great. My side gray pieces aren't showing up like other dyesm this seems to have some good gray coverage. My hair took this color! I have a PPE allergy, I get a really itchy scalp, scabs, and burns on my ears and neck. Basically, anywhere it touches get irritated. I am not sure if this has PPE in it. I didn't even look to be honest. My scalp did burn a little while it was on my head. I got a couple of burns on my ears. I think it may been worth it though. I am naturally a brunette, but haven't been one in over 30 years. This color and brand was able to get me back to my natural color. I would definitely try this again. If I don't have a reaction, then it will be my go to hair dye. One bottle covered my hair, so a little goes a long way.

Got intense cocoa (color) after using regular Schwarzkopf (not keratin) a few times. This box did a worse job covering my grey roots than the original line of Schwarzkopf. I tried the keratin since it seemed "healthier" and I wanted a dark color without a red, orange, or pink undertone (most of theirs have this, unfortunately). Intense Cocoa does not seem to have any undertone, but this type did a worse job, and my previous red undertone from their last dye (Mahogany) is semi visible when up close, but doesn't look unnatural. I may try Cappuccino next, or just go back to regular Schwarzkopf because I was much more impressed by the coverage on those.

For a few years I was using wella color from Sally beauty, but having a major issue with it not covering up grays. I decided to try something different this time, I absolutely would recommend this hair dye if you are having trouble covering gray! It came with a little bottle of stuff you rub into the ends of your hair before dying, it smelled good and felt like it was moisturizing my hair. The kit comes with everything you need, the developer is already measured out in the squeeze bottle, all you have to do is squeeze in the tube of dye. The color deposited so richly onto my hair!!! I I am impressed, no box dye that i have used has deposited so richly onto my hair, so I will be purchasing this again! It also comes with a tube of conditioner which was really nice.

This dye dried out my hair and the colour was darker than on the box..I have used this dye in the past never has it been like this... I would not recommend buying this

I’ve been using this colour now for about 4 years and have been satisfied with the results. Great grey coverage and lasts a while. The shade I used is intense cocoa which is a rich dark brown.
