Change to a great product or cheap knock off?
I have been wearing this exact style of reef sandals for roughly 5 or 6 years. I have ordered them 3 times from amazon when I decided to see if amazon carried them. I love them, they get used and abused for about 9 months out of the year. So when my old pair was getting pretty worn down I shot off an order for them. Sadly It was December and the period of time where I don't normally get to use them, so I tossed them in my closet for when it gets a little warmer. Today is a nice day so I figure shorts and flips flops is a go. I grab my new reefs and throw them on. I take a few steps and notice i'm sliding around with no traction. I check the bottom to see if something is on them. Nothing there, but it seems like something is different. So I grab my old pair and lo and behold they are drastically different. The bottom is a cheap hard plastic rather than a grippy rubber. It's thinner and the memory foam like material that is so comfortable isn't there. Everything about it screams knock off. However if this isn't the case I will never be buying another pair of Reefs again. I recommended them to everyone. If this is the product they wish to put out now, I can no longer recommend them.

Do you have flat feet and need a comfortable pair of sandals?
The Good:-Great for flat feet-Comfortable all day-Stylish-Good value-Good fit but go up 1 size-Good grip on outsoleThe Bad:-NoneThe Bottom Line:I have very flat feet and have tried a lot of sandals. The only ones that have felt good were Ecco’s but they are SO expensive. I wanted to give these Reef Phantoms a try and they are great. They’re comfortable and have enough arch support for my flat feet. The outsoles have good grip even after getting wet. I would recommend that you go up one size in that I usually wear a size 10 but got size 11. Overall, I would recommend these sandals especially if you have flat feet.

Ordered 3 times, when I finally got the right size they were ugly and uncomfortable
So to start off I wore the Reef sandals with the bottle openers on the bottom for a year and I loved them, and they were correctly sized. I got a size ten of these phantom sandals and it was way to small, but I went ahead and returned for an 11, they were also too small and different from the first pair, like different materials used in the strap. Finally ordered a 12 and they actually fit (my size ten feet) but the under part of the straps are cratchy and uncomfortable, and I have medium high arches but the arch bump on these is huge, I was worried i’d roll my ankle again because they made both my feet tilt outward. And they just look ugly, these fit as in my feet will go in them but the back is almost level with my heel while the front sticks out like 2 inches past my toes, pic included of the size 12s

Second pair of reef I bought here and they broke ...
Second pair of reef I bought here and they broke within 2 weeks. It's also smaller than the ones they sell in the stores. I think it's knock offs. The ones I bought at a department store still last me 4 years now

Will come unglued in a few weeks
Not sturdy in the least. If you're going to write a review here, I hope you've at least worn these continuously for a few weeks because mine came apart just outside of the 30 day return window. While wading through a creek, the webbing on not one but both flip flops pulled out of the sole. There are no visible tears or broken stitches, so I can only conclude that it was held in the sole by glue that gave out when I tried to lift my foot out of the water. That's just cheap manufacturing. With a little more material, the webbing could've all been sewn together and there would be no risk of it pulling out, but instead the manufacturer went with cheap glue instead. You would expect "Reef" flip flops would be able to survive a little water, but you would be wrong.

Ok, but
I keep buying these over years but there are a few drawbacks. The strap is a bit too long, so the sandals do not fit snugly on the foot. Also, they are only good for about a year. On every pair that I have owned, the strap eventually pulls out of the sole. This usually happens when I am out shopping or something, and I have to limp home on one sandal. The strap is not securely fastened. The strap will pull out long before the sole wears out. Overall, they are comfortable and only $23, so I keep buying them. But it is a shame to have to throw them out after a year when the strap pulls out. Please improve your product Reef and keep these out of landfills for a little longer

Straps Tight. Order a size up, especially if you are a half size like I am.
okay, the sandals fit, but the strap is WAY tight. I can tell they will break in eventually, and I'll probably wear them in the shower a couple times to help, but wow... they are tight. the first time I tried them on, I was ready to send them back. But I knew if I went a size up, the sandal would be too big and then of course there is a possibility of the strap also being too loose and loosening even more once broken in. So, I figured I would wear them for a day and just wiggle my toes often to keep my feet from falling off. So far so good. I have not lost any toes. They are great sandals, and I got mind for $25, but I would not pay any more than that. I guess if you are reading this, I would recommend trying a size up, especially if you are a half size like I am. I ended up going with a 10 instead of an 11. After a couple days they will be fine, but if you don't want the hassle of breaking them in like I have to, go a size up.

Poor quality.
The pair of size 13 phantom reefs I just received are not consistent in size with past purchases. These are almost 3/4” shorter in length and the width about 1/4” narrower. This is the 4th pair that I’ve purchased is the last 10 years, and is the 1st time there’s ever been any issue with the size. After doing some research I found that Reef was bought out in 2018 by Rockport. It’s apparent they made some drastic changes to the Reef sandals in order to pad their investors pockets. After taking an even closer look at the sandals that I received and comparing them to the pair I purchased in 2017, I started noticing other differences. The bottom of the sandals no longer have the same non slip material. My 4+ year old worn down reef phantom sandals are more comfortable than this new design. These sandals will be returned and I’ll be shopping for another brand.Rockport if your reading this, go back to the old design with the higher quality materials. I’m not interested in the garbage your manufacturing.

Very good quality
These arrived on time and with minimal packaging, which I believe is a good thing. They were comfortable straight away, although the texture on the foot bed was not smooth and took a while to get used to. The straps fit my feet perfectly however I agree with previous comments that they are a little neat in their fitting. My foot is on the small side of a 10uk, I believe if you’re on the larger end of a 10uk or have wide feet they may be a little too neat and you may be better going up a size. Now that I have worn them for a few days they are very comfortable to walk in. Overall I am very happy with them.

Wouldn't recommend
Disappointed.. I've had 5 pairs of reefs and these are the worst I have had. I've got a pair of cushion bounce phantoms which are so comfortable, the soles are like walking on firm jelly! These are nowhere near as comfortable. I'm also not 100% sure they are even real reefs and not copies. The tread on the bottom of the sole is wearing out after less than two weeks wearing and the sole is compressing and becoming thinner, which I would expect from a pair of knock offs but not a genuine item.

Reef Men’s - fitting comes up half size short.
Bought these to replace very similar pair purchased in Hawaii in 2014 and pleased to find they are nearly identical aside from the pattern on the topside of the rubber sole. While I believe I bought a UK 11 previously, being my standard shoe size, the new pair are not quite as long, so my heel protrudes, although the base of my heel does sit on the shoe. If there was a UK11.5 I would recommend a half size up, but a UK12 would be too big. However, hopefully as they loosen, my feet will ease forward and the fit may end up just fine.

Flipping good!
Excellent product. Hesitated to order after reading comments on sizing but went ahead with my normal shoe size and fit is perfect. The toe post chafes a bit at first but break them in gradually and they become very comfortable indeed. There is a nice level of support in the sole. Very happy with this purchase.

Great quality - arch support could be better
tad tighter than i'd have expected since i went a half size bigger, excellent quality although i personally bought this pair for the arch support which is a bit too shallow for what I need so if you're like me and need arch support i'd advise try before you buy if possible, even if it's just a similar pair to get an idea of what to expect.
