One of the best zombie games I have played!
I have previously played the original Dying Light game a few years ago, Dying Light 2 improves on the parkour side of things, I love the fact you can move around quickly, this is key as it's dangerous running across the streets where danger is most likely especially in night time.It has a great story and has plenty of side quests, basically encourages you to explore. The game will also be support for several years to come, bringing in new features and dlc.

If you loved dying light 1, you'll love this
As a fan of the first game, I was looking forward to playing the second installment. It does take a few hours to settle into the new storyline and features etc, but once it gets going (after about 4 hours in) you can really start to enjoy the missions and usual zombie slaying fun as your skills grow and you pick up better weapons and abilities. The game mechanics have vastly improved, gameplay is smooth and fun and using the weapons will definitely satisfy as you hack, slash and parkour your way through a vibrant city - which is buzzing with activity and is much improved graphically. Visually looks very good on PS5.Some people have commented on the story being a bit flat, but I honestly havent found that to be the case because its buisness as usual dying light - if you enjoyed the first game you will like this alot. Still the best hack and slash zombie game out there and alot of fun to play. The only thing that lets it down a little is the glitches - 95% of the time the game runs well but occassionally it will randomly crash or a zombie will be floating in mid air after being killed. BUT this is only very minor and Techland do run patches now and again to fix the bugs. Overall id give it a solid 8.5/10. Still immense fun if you enjoyed the first game.

Zombie-smashing-fun-running fun
I'm around 30 hours in and I really don't see where the review 'hate' came from. The game does exactly what it says on the tin and I have yet to come across a single bug.I can see why die hard fans of the original may have some issues with the changes but personally I like them. Its more arcade'y in feel the the original but the world map, terrain, parkour and combat are greatly improved. I particularly enjoy the dungeon delving aspect with your immunity constantly depleting that adds tension to any loot run of this sort. I've even had a couple of surprisingly emotional story moments. The only negative is it is not the best looking game (on PS5) but I have also prioritised 'Performance' in the Video settings which drops it to 1080 60fps. After testing this setting for a while going back to 30fps just felt uber clunky.Keep in mind, the original was not a gem by any standard when it came out but Techland's after sale support was fantastic. They have a good foundation base game down and I have high hopes that they will continue to improve it into something truly epic.

Disappointing
The first game was an unexpected hit for me. I didn't think it would add up to much, but it was fantastic. And that is why so many if the design choices in Dying Light 2 are even more frustrating. The tension of the first game is almost completely gone here. Even the bigger enemies just aren't as scarey as they were before. Added to that the missions. Especially side missions, are really basic - the usual "open world" style "collect this and bring it back" type missions. There are also no guns here, all combat is melee. Its also set in a weird future where the virus from the first has pretty much wiped out the human race. And lastly, the graphics aren't that good either. For a PS5 game especially. The character animations are worse than some I saw on PS3. Such a shame and a wasted opportunity for what should have been a fantastic sequel.

Good Game
The game like any other released has some slight bugs that will no doubt be fixed over time. The game and story so far is great! And the pre order bonus was sent to my email which works fine.I never played the first dying light game but after spending a night on this I wish I did.Great game all round and I would highly recommend you give it a go.

Good game, broken trophies
Really enjoyed this game. Compared to the first one, for some reason going out at night isn’t as terrifying as I remember it being in the former game, and the story isn’t particularly interesting, but the melee combat and parkour mechanics are really fun, especially once you’ve levelled up a bit. I played on performance mode and didn’t notice any frame dips or lag. I put about 50 hours in, and would have played more if not for the completely broken trophy system, which resulted in 4-5 trophies not popping, which ultimately left me pretty disappointed by the end
