I finally used this for the first time after buying it a year ago. It worked like a charm. It’s my first time fishing in over 25 years and I had no issues that I couldn’t correct get help from the other anglers at the lake and YouTube.My best friend and I got the same rod because it was shiny and we wanted to match but not be TOO girly.

After just 4 days of light use this end portion just broke off.

I've been using an ancient fishing rod that from the early 90s and decided it was time to retire old faithful. I ordered this set because it included a good variety of hooks and bait (I don't know what the proper name is for those), as well as some fishing line, in addition to the rod and reel which are all tucked away into an easy to store case.The rod is lightweight, telescopic carbon fiber and has a nice balance to it. The reel looks nice as well and definitely more than enough for my needs.The case is a fabric like material which is sort of annoying since its likely to get dirty with fish stuff at some point which might make it difficult to clean compared to smooth hard plastic. But at this price with everything you get, I can live with it.Overall very pleased with this set and find it very useful for freshwater lake fish so far.

The broke before they were even used..

The media could not be loaded. I like so much about his rod set. Telescopic with a smooth spinning reel. For left or right hand! Very lightweight and an attractive design. Love the carrying/storage bag. Has all the essentials to get you going. I have since used this for trout fishing and had no issues whatsoever. I’ve been away from fishing for a long time, so I picked this up as an all-in-one set to get back into it. The reel is compact but functional, and the carbon fiber rod disappears into almost nothing. The whole set fits into a padded cloth zipper case that will easily fit under a car seat. I am quite happy with this.

What I liked:- The rod feels well made, has a good weight to it and measures 15.5" when collapsed and 7' when fully extended. (A lot of telescoping rods are much longer when collapsed, making them less portable)- The reel comes with a second spool for quickly switching out your line- The set comes with a spool of line (although it's woven and I've not used that style of line before).- Reel action is smooth- Drag adjustment is smoothWhat I was neutral about:- The provided tackle is just a collection of cheap stuff to make the set seem more complete. The only really useful things are the hooks and the clips.- The reel has an anti-reverse switch, which I like, but I much prefer the anti-reverse that allows the bail roller to snap back to the topmost position. This stops the bail basically wherever you've turned it to. Since this is mostly a preference thing I'm just mentioning it here not criticizing it.What I didn't like:- The reel construction is lacking in quality - the brass-looking parts are just metallic painted plastic- The case doesn't really have space for the reel - the bail is essentially pushing on the outer wall of the case when stored- The case is only really good for long term storage. I would not likely take it with me to the water.Conclusion:This is a decent set but it's not $80 decent. The reel seems to have a good bearing design and operates smoothly but critical parts are made with cheap plastic that does not feel at all durable. Part of what I find most appealing about telescoping rods is the quick setup and teardown but this case doesn't really allow for that. In my opinion this set is decent but overpriced. If they want to keep the price, they should provide a better case - one that's large enough to hold the reel mounted to the rod without the bail needing to push against the wall. Otherwise they should ditch the case and the filler tackle and knock about $20 off. In either case they need to provide a handle that's better than flimsy plastic with a metal veneer.

Chinese product always Chinese .broken in first use from back side of rod. Rod breaked by approx 1kg fish. Request to seller don't sell this type of cheap product. Very disappointed.Not recommended...
