These are nothing like flour sack towels. The person who said the seemed like it, doesn't know what a flour sack towel is.

Q: Has anyone embroidered on these towel and how did they hold up?

Yes, I have embroidered on them,and the stitching looks great using 4 threads. The towels texture is just right for embroidery, neither to thin or thick. I have not washed them though because they are going to a fundraiser sale.

Q: What type of weight do these towels have? Are they light mid-weigh or heavy in the hand?

I'd call them mid to heavy weight. They have really nice quality feel and wash beautifully. I embroider them and my customers love them.
