Sergio Kun Aguero: Born to Rise-My Story

I have only partially read this book so far. The early years of Sergio Aguero's life were extremely tough.

I bought this book because Sergio Aguero is one of the best ever foreign imports to the Premiership. I am only currently half way through reading it but I cannot see my opinion changing so might as well post the review now. I thought the prologue was rather over laden with plaudits so I put the book down for nine months then picked it up again and gave it another go. Great move because it became much more interesting from chapter one as the story begins of how this boy from the lowest possible background imaginable manages to do the impossible and get to the very top. Fascinating how his parents despite their disadvantaged situation were clever and committed enough to skilfully plot his way forward at a crucial early stage in his football life even though they had several other children to look after. I was really enjoying the read until it became a trudge through tons of detailed info regarding just about everything regarding his early football life. I have ground to a halt again recharging my batteries for another attempt at wading my way through all his youth team stats and I will read the book through but maybe 250 pages or so might have been a better choice.

Sergio's story is a great one from the start and he is a very natural story teller. Follow the life of a real life legend who was always destined for greatness, from his humble beginning to scoring the famous goal against QPR in Fergie time for Manchester City to win the premier league in 2012 for the first time since 1968 and then again just 2 years later. What a story, what a player and what a man. True Legend.

Book is fine. Very slow delivery!

Bought as xmas pressie for hubby.He was over the moon to receive this gift.He is enjoying reading this book.The book is a lot thicker than expected which is a bonus, the packaging was great as book arrived as it should.Great read for any man city can and value for monet

A really interesting read, a must for any Manchester City fan. It's great to know about his childhood and to know what an honest, caring person he has grown into and to realise what a lovely family he comes from. Can't recommend this book enough!

I'm about half way through the book now & Aguero has just been born, it's gettin pretty exciting!!

I bought this for my ten year old son and he loves it, and keeps telling me interesting stories from his hero's youth. Some nice photos and great to hear about the background and determination of this great player. Recommended.
