Q: I see the appearance of a kit of goods and one review mentions a kit, but no seller description of content of a kit?

The kit includes charcloth, fresh canvas to make more, o rings lube for the o rings a case 550 chord to make a lanyard and the piston. I think the piston is too short mine doesn't work. I have tried many times to and it doesn't work. The seal is good, compression is insufficient to start ignition.

Q: does anyone know the o ring size for the piston?

I don't know the answer but I would take the o ring or the whole device to a auto parts store they sale o rings and have it fitted

Q: Does this product still come with char cloth? I ordered one as a gift a few years ago and it did, but now I see no mention of pre-made char cloth.

No I do not believe it does. However, this is the third type of fire piston I have used over the years to teach outdoor skills and it is the best In quality and function. Personally, I would not let the lack of char cloth deter me in buying this product again.

Q: What grease is in the kit? crc synthetic high temperature grease seems right. clear/yellow, extreme pressure, food grade, high/low temp, nsf h1

The grease is an amber color. Extremely thick. They it come with enough grease to last many years as you only need to apply a tiny amount.
