This is the exact product as harbor freight!Pittsburg re-brand.Tried it..... not that great. Good for very soft metals. Good for RETREADS, not good at all for TREADING new treads.

The tray that holds the tap and dyes is cheap thin very flexible plastic. It doesn’t open the way it is in the pictures. The “trays” are stacked on top of one another. I was hoping for a “set”. But all I got was a number a tap and dyes.

I am a retired machinist you wont be doing any threading with these. the box is metal the insert insert is thin I mean thin plastic .Taps and dies are trash Tried 1 tap 1 die returning .

For the cost of this tap and die set, I wasn't expecting much. To my surprise, all the components seem high-quality. They are machined parts, and the only suspect item may be the plating; I'm not sure if it is vanadium or other strong coating. I successfully used some of the taps on steel, and cutting action was as expected.

Broke on the very first tap. Went to tap a 3/8 x 16 hole, pre drilled the 5/16 it calls for and didnt even get my first hole tapped before the first 4 or 5 threads broke off

Plastic trays very cheap and flimsy

Haven't gotten the opportunity to use yet but when I do, you can tell it's quality craftsman design from the packaging and properly oiled prior to use.

Could not move the handles in or out until I work them free. Not well made.
