I was really surprised by this gel. I have 2b/2c hair and sometimes gels are too heavy, but I like to use them because my curls are usually bigger. My photos are from the same wash cycle. Day "one" I washed my hair, put the gel in, used my denman brush and then went to bed with damp hair. I woke up and scrunched out my hair and that morning was "day one." You can see the the curls are bigger on that day than day four where I used a diffuser and got tighter curls. On day four I misted my hair till wet and styled like new, adding more product both while using the denman brush and while scrunching.I have fine, blonde hair, so it can look dirty easily. But it's important for me not to wash my hair too often otherwise it gets really frizzy. You can see my day four hair does not look dirty or nasty despite the fact that I'd styled with gel back on day one and still hadn't washed it. So that's a good indication that it didn't leave any visible residue or anything. I will note that I didn't put any in my roots directly because that often causes me to have to wash more frequently. I also didn't put any leave in conditioners in my hair during the four days or before applying gel.Overall I'm really happy. It appears to be CG approved (I literally hand-typed the ingredients into curlsbot) I do wish they'd have the ingredients typed out in the listing so that they are easier to search though rather than just a photo of the container. My only real critique is that I don't care for the smell. While the ingredients do list a fragrance, I think the smell I don't care for is the tea tree oil. If you like how that smells you will probably like the smell of this gel, but it's not my favorite scent unfortunately.

Initially I was nervous requesting this because of the vp/va copolymer but it turns out that it is water soluble and CG approved! YeaWhen I opened it, the inner seal was broken and I was leary but I'm so happy I used it. It feels sticky on my hands but it isnt sticky at all in my hair. It definitely cuts down on the frizz. It seals my hair and leaves it SHINY! MY Hair which is never shiny!!Very happy I took a chance.

I received 1, 8 ounce jar of GIRL+HAIR Hair Gel. The product is designed for curly, kinky or coily hair types. The product contains pimento oil, castor oil, and tea tree oil. The gel is lightweight without the flakes.The product does have a soft hold, but it is still stiffer than, I would like. The product has a smell, which is tolerable, but not to my liking.
