Purchased and used this leader in 4, 6, and 8lb test for trout fishing of various sizes in lakes and rivers/streams. It is very supple and knot strength feels solid. I use an Alberto at the leader connection point and a palomar at the hook. At first was constantly breaking off at the hook during hook sets. Loosened my drag quite a bit and now don’t have that problem but do loose some hook setting power and it does pull some drag when I have to set harder than usual.The reason I suspect it’s a little generous with test rating is due to the issue of break offs. I’ve used plenty of other leaders that are rated the same but do not break as easily. Ive tried various knots… uni, loop, San Diego jam (which takes me like an hour) and finally landed on Palomar being the most reliable. I do like gold label due to its suppleness so I’m willing to accept the trade off. I’d just recommend going up to the next test rating. The 6 lb test is still thinner than just about every other 4 lb leader I’ve used anyway.

Package is very small. About half the size of a regular package of leader. Fits in a small bag nicely. Never had a problem with this brand of leader breaking.

The product itself is great as is the Amazon price. Anyone that fishes knows this is an industry staple.I knocked off two stars though because the fulfillment for this product was poor. I ordered the 25lb which was set to arrive right before an overnight fishing trip. Instead they delivered the 6lb. Not even close. People make mistakes but this was just a weird miss and they need better quality control in place.
