Breville Flow Jug Blender & Smoothie Maker | 700W | 1.75L Glass Jug | Slate Grey [VBL242]

I had trouble getting this to work consistently at first, because unless the lid is firmly and completely fixed on it won't work. It does not state this in the manual, so I thought it was faulty. Having asked for a replacement (which arrived promptly) I initially had the same problem so experimented and discovered the problem ( I had never had a blender with this mechanism before). I think this should be mentioned prominently in the manual to avoid unnecessary returns. That being said this is a very efficient blender and I am now very happy with it

Looks good, but is extremely noisy, louder than other blenders. Jug cracked whilst blending a shake with ice. Company refused to acknowledge requests for repair/replace.Not what I expected from an “established company”

It's easy to use and to clean. It's somewhat powerful but not powerful enough

Does the job, 5 speeds and a massive jug. Good strong quality design and very easy to setup and use. Cheaper than the high street, bargain.

This blender is a disaster. First, like other reviewers have noted, the bottom can come loose while blending causing all the contents to leak out, sometimes FLOOD out. I thought I’d get past that by tightening the living heck out of it, but it still came loose sometimes.However, the biggest issue is that I have only had this blender for 9 months and the blades just broke off while I was blending, leaving tiny metal fragments in my smoothie so I had to dump it out. I was blending protein powder and frozen fruits — something you’d expect any blender to be able to handle!Not a good blender if you A) want to keep your food INSIDE the blender and B) want metal-shard-free food! Avoid!!!

Stopped working after 3 uses...nothing out of the ordinary, banana and strawberry smoothies. Disappointed.--------------UPDATE: If the lid isn't securely closed, the blender will not turn/power on. Not sure if this is in the manual tbh but seeing someone commenting this saved my bacon.So it still works!

This blender appears to be made from sturdy and durable materials. The jug is made of solid glass instead of a more fragile material such as plastic.It is very easy to use, assemble and clean.Highly recommend.

I bought this solely to blend fruit for baking. I already have a blender attachment on my kenwood stand mixer but it's a bother getting the whole unit out so this seemed like a good solution. I used it today and it has worked a treat (bare in mind I required a lumpy-ish fruit mix) and cleaned up very well. No match for the kenwood but I didn't expect it to be anywhere near as good.As with any blender, the more liquid I used the smoother the blend but I don't feel confident you'd get a super smooth, lump free mixture if that's your end goal.I did not experience any of the issues mentioned by other reviewers. The locking mechanism on my lid is fine, not hard to slot in and out at all. The rubber seal under the blade is fiddly but aligned well on the third attempt with no leaks at all and the five speeds offered are varied enough to be useful.Easy to clean as everything comes apart.Three stars because although the jug itself is solid glass and nice and weighty, the cheap plastic base while expected should definitely downgrade it to a lower price bracket.Overall content with my purchase.
