Coraline Review Coraline is one of those rare movies that both kids and adults can appreciate on different levels. My daughter first watched it when she was about seven years old, and it immediately became her favorite movie. Years later, it’s still the one she comes back to again and again. The film does an incredible job of balancing creepy, mysterious, and magical without relying on cheap scares. It explores emotions that many children experience curiosity, loneliness, wanting to be understood, and the temptation of things that seem too good to be true. While it has plenty of eerie moments, it also delivers a meaningful message about appreciating the love and family you already have. The animation is beautiful, imaginative, and unlike anything else. Every time we watch it, we notice new details that we missed before. It’s the perfect mix of spooky and heartfelt, making it a great choice for families with older children who enjoy a little mystery and adventure. Even after all these years, Coraline remains one of our all-time favorite movies and has become a tradition in our home.

This steel book case is just STUNNING in person!!! Like advertised, it has 2 discs, one the 4K Ultra HD edition, and the second disc a standard Blu-Ray. I also adore the photo book that came with this set too!!! Everything is a work of art and it makes me so happy to add this piece of artwork to my movie collection!!! As for the movie itself, I have always LOVED Coraline!!! It is a truly magical stop-motion animation movie!!! The movie is based on the book by Neil Gaiman. It's a one-of-a-kind adventure centered around the main character named Coraline. I would say that this movie would be perfect for older children, since some elements of the movie may be considered too scary or "mature" for certain audiences. As a parent, I would watch it on your own first if you're worried about content before you show it to your children. It's a classic movie in my opinion and I was able to watch it at 10 years old when it first came out and loved it!!! Then again I don't scare easily and I love quirky movies like this. It's a fun movie for the whole family to watch because it has the perfect balance childlike wonder and what it's like to be an adult. Long story short, if you're a mega fan of "Coraline" then you most definitely need this to add to your collection!!! It exceeded my expectations!!!

My definite go to during and before the spooky season. I’ve seen this over 100 times in life lol .Family friendly with high definition. A bit out there if weird is your thing🤭 really great plot twist and story line.

This review is for the Blu-ray 3-D version (not the anaglyph, not the regular DVD) of Coraline. For whatever reason, Amazon lumps all the reviews on a given movie together. I wasn't sure about Coraline. I'm a 40 year old guy with a big Samsung 3-D TV and a surround setup, and I love a good movie as much as the next guy, but when a friend insisted that this was the movie she wanted to see, I was a bit taken aback. Coraline? What's it about? Could I get into it? Is it another in a long line of these totally CG movies like "Shrek" and "Cars"? Turns out the answers are yes, anyone could get into it; and no, it's not just another Pixar/Disney/RenderMan product. Coraline is a partly CG, but mostly stop-motion feature film, with real puppets (Coraline herself had "hundreds of heads," I am informed, and a special seamstress was employed to sew her tiny outfits.) Stop motion is a tricky business at best and a crew of hundreds were employed for years to bring the awesome - and they succeeded. As other reviewers have noted the film is a visual feast, and it displays a very personal, very idiosyncratic visual style which coheres through the whole film. Plot-wise, the film is very classic fantasy - reminded me of Pan's Labyrinth, just a little bit. A young girl, depressed by her distant parents who are busy with troubles of their own, retreats into a fantasy world where things are not what they seem - and then things take a malignant turn. No point in spoilering it - it's a classic plot and it's played out beautifully, the timing and the three-act structure are just superb. If you are an adult who can stand a fairy tale - there is a talking cat - you will absolutely love it. Despite the fairy-tale veneer, though, this is not for young children - no sex, but there is some real horror going on and I don't think I'd expose anyone much under the age of 12 to it, maybe a very resilient and worldly-wise 11 year old, but no younger. The 3-D is incredible - I am reviewing the HDMI 1.4a Blu-Ray 3-D, not the color-based anaglyph. My TV does 240 Hz with active-shutter and I have never seen a better use of 3-D; it was like looking through a window into a real world, or a shadowbox at least - both I and my friend soon forgot we were even watching a 3-D movie, it was just a seamless part of the experience. The voice acting, music, and surround sound were also technically and emotionally excellent, just examples of perfectly executed filmmaking at a very high level. I rarely say this, but I am quite certain I will watch this movie again and again and I will take great delight in showing it to friends. If you have a 3-D TV and have any interest at all in viewing this flick after this review, the best thing you can do is stop reading and go click 'Buy It Now'. You are going to love it.

This is simply a wonderful movie I Am astounded I did not watch it when it came out over 15 years ago the creators of this film and the directors did a utterly fantastic job putting together stop motion technology that appears so lifelike and fluid in motion kudos to all involved with the development of this splendid film. Do your self a favor and watch this film Immediately you be astounded

Livraison soigné et rapide, produit magnifique! Malheureusement ma PS3 ne les lis pas, c’est juste marqué « Invalid Region », je suis en Belgique et je suppose c’est dû aux zones. Sinon, j’ai demandé un remboursement, j’ai déposé le colis à la poste et 3hs après j’ai eu une confirmation de remboursement, je crois ils n’attendent même pas d’avoir le retour, juste la preuve que l’on a envoyé leur suffit, c’est top! Coraline ist für mich wirklich ein gekonntes Meisterwerk der Stop-Motion Kunst! Ich habe sehr lange voller Vorfreude auf diesen Film gewartet und muss sagen das sich das Warten mehr als gelohnt hat! Seit Jahren bin ich schon ein riesiger Fan von Tim Burton und Henry Selick und finde das ihre Filme mit voller Liebe zum kleinsten Detail rüber kommen. Ausserdem muss man schon wissen das die beiden recht düstere aber zuckersüsse Filme machen. Ich finde es sehr schade das hier ein jemand solche schlechte Kritik dem Film gegenüber äussert. Natürlich sollte man schon überlegen mit welcher Art von Film man es hier zu tun hat,bevor man sich entscheidet sich den Film anzugucken. Okay,der Film ist eben nicht gezeichnet und gleicht auch nicht einem Kinderfilm von Walt Disney,aber darüber sollte man sich schon im Klaren sein. Dann bitte ich den Herrn doch mal ein paar Disney Filme anzuschauen und darüber Kritik zu äussern,denn auch in Arielle,Bambi und Co gibt es jede Menge Übeltäter,wo man sicherlich auch als Kind schlotterige Beine bekommt und ich mich nicht daran entsinnen könnte das es mir als Kind jemals geschadet hätte.Mir ist nicht bekannt das man ein traumatisches Erlebnis durch solche Filme bekommt,ich jedenfalls musste nicht in Behandlung danach;)! Traurig..echt traurig! Coraline hat nicht mal Ansätze zu Hannibal Lector!Es ist weder Blut zu sehen noch jene Brutalität!!! Wie man auf so ein abstruses Zeug kommt.. Leute,macht euch selbst ein Bild von dem Film! Wer Tim Burton Fan ist und Stop-Motion Movies liebt wird auch Coraline lieben!!! P.S. Der Soundtrack ist auch wunderschön!!!
