Compact size - Yes, but better yet is the worm drive - when the current stops, so does the rotation. It's like having a built-in BRAKE, at no additional expense. I just hope these motors continue to be available for purchase. They're great for opening window blinds or trap doors, also good for lifting (medium) heavy loads. They continue to operate at low RPM with a PWM speed controler. I use one to power a turn-table.

Great motor so far! About 80 hours on it and it hasn’t skipped a beat. It’s pretty strong and has not stalled yet! A little noisy but not bad! 5 stars

It will fit in what ever you want it to for if You build something performance is good the power of the motor is ver strong but it is quite

These are fairly powerful, little, units. In fact, it almost worked for my project (To raise and lower my drill press table). I believe the metal gears and construction is pretty admirable - just not powerful enough for my needs. To use this for opening a cabinet lid or drawer, I believe would be excellent - especially with the small footprint. I'm saving up for a more powerful gear motor to do what I need. I'll save this for some, other, future project.
