Mostly DOA
Lots of things wrong with this.3 of the 4 pumps are dead. The 4th pump runs, but doesn't pump water.I should have known when I finally opened the package this weekend to tinker, that I was in for a bad time. The relay board looked like it was refurbished. The solder joints were corroded, and the screw terminals were rusty (yes, rusty).I decided to give it a try anyways, and wired to the instructions (which didn't come with the product, you have to contact the seller... pain in the butt) - the code works fine, and the capacitive sensors (the only functioning parts) were reading wonderfully. However, the relays wouldn't turn on. I grabbed my volt meter and soon realized that the only way for the relays to work were to physically tap them - which tells me the internal switch is also corroded or worn. Why would I try to make my indoor garden automated if you had to operate a relay by physically tapping on it?This product combo is a hunk of junk.STAY FAR AWAY!!!

Good starter kit. The pumps can only push 12" head, max.
I love that this came as a kit. The capacitance probes work great. The relay board works great. Unfortunately, the pumps are garbage for my project. The pumps will work fine if you are not pushing greater than 12" above the water level/pump level.I contacted the seller and promptly received a .pdf set of instructions that were a very helpful starter spot. It included some rudimentary suggested starter code and a rudimentary wiring diagram.I'm writing this review even though it says that Amazon is out of this product and doesn't know if they'll get it back.Even though the pumps were garbage for my project--so I had to purchase four more pumps--I'm very happy with this kit and don't know why there are so many negative reviews.Edit: I've completed my project and am VERY happy with this kit. I had originally given this 4-stars, but am raising it to 5-stars. The pumps are still garbage for anything greater than tabletop potted plants, but the rest of this kit and the .pdf they sent me via e-mail are great and I still feel like the price is right. The pumps are still garbage, lol....

It works but has problems
The package arrived with 5 pumps even though the pictures only show 4 but one of the pumps ended up not working when I applied power to it so I basically still got 4 working pumps. All the pumps came with short wires which were less than a foot which is probably not enough for most applications. I ended up extending the wires by at least another foot. The relay arrived with a bent pin which was easily straightened out. One of the relay channels doesn't work which is slightly irritating but the other 3 work just fine. The relay also arrived with one of the LEDs broken off which happens to be for the non-working relay channel. Half of the busbar (on the working relay channels) is not soldered properly and is angled but still works as expected. The tubing arrived with a strong plasticky smell but I left it in a water and vinegar bath overnight which got rid of most of the smell. The moisture sensors work as expected but need to be tested to find their water and air values in order to get an accurate moisture percentage. Overall a good product with some minor issues that can be easily fixed (except for the broken relay and the LED).

The only instructions is the wiring diagram in the description.
There was zero documentation or instructions with my order. I can’t find any sort of “tutorial” like they talk about in the description. All I received was an envelope of parts. I’m sure I’ll figure it out but it won’t be because of any help from the manufacturer. The parts look decent enough and the price was right. The cables included to connect the sensors to the Arduino are very short, you will probably have to splice in sections to get the proper length but you’ll have connectors to solder to. Overall the kit has quite a bit considering the price but the sheer lack of any instructions when they specifically talk about a tutorial is why I’m giving this 2 stars.

Surprised at how accommodating it is
I've been involved with dev boards and kits for about 12 years now, but am by no means a coder or schematic disigner. I'm proficient enough at both to sample what I need, edit and go from there.I do have to say I was impressed with the recourses this kit offered. Wiring instructions, code examples, all available off github. Usually when you purchase a kit or module you're left researching how to use it, which is what I'm used to. They have everything available with a simple link here. You could get a similar kit just about anywhere, but it's these small efforts to offer convenience that I really appreciate. I will first try to buy any sensor, kit or module from you before anywhere else from now on.
