These shirts are fantastic. I have purchased a variety of plain t-shirts ...
These shirts are fantastic. I have purchased a variety of plain t-shirts lately including PACT, Next Level, Bella Canvas, and these, in my quest to find the best. So far, these are the best. The medium fits just right on me (6'1", 170 lbs.). The 50/50 is super soft with a little bit of stretch. The shirt is not too thick or thin and feels like a quality product. They held up great in the wash, retaining their size and softness when washed on cold plus 15 minutes in the dryer and then air dried. The price on Amazon is great too at around $8-$10. As of 2017 these shirts sold from Amazon are imported and not made in the US. However, on American Apparel's website they offer two styles, one imported and one made in the US, for $18 and $22 respectively. I have tried both and noticed no differences. So in the end, these are great shirts and all you have to do is weigh your wallet vs. your patriotism.

The Perfect T-Shirt Period, and I'm a lady!
I'm a woman and I bought this because the fit is so much better than the women's version. I had a promotional shirt made from this company years ago and it quickly became my favorite lounging around t-shirt. I found this on Amazon and it is exactly the same. It is what I call the perfect t-shirt. Loose, comfy, cool, dry, soft and stretchy. It isn't for a fancy occasion or anything but hey, it's a t-shirt. I ordered a size larger because I like my shirts really loose and not clingy. Even though these shirts are on the thinner side my other one has lasted seven years of repeat hard washing so I am hoping this one will do the same. If you are a guy ordering this, be sure to get one for your lady too or she will take your :)

Good fit, durable
These are durable shirts, which is surprising considering they're on the thin side (but not overmuch, imo). The fabric has held up well through countless washes, and color holds up *very* well. I've tried a few other inexpensive poly-cotton blend T's, and these are the best overall so far. I first bought these in summer 2012, and those are holding up well enough to wear every day. The only reason I bought more was to do laundry less often, and color variety.I am average build (5' 10' 160lbs), and the fit is perfect for me. Good balance of comfort and form. Loose enough to allow some breathing room but not baggy or 'sausage wrapper' tight.

Thin shirts, but good customer service
Edit: I contacted American Apparel about this issue and they admitted they were defective t-shirts and agreed to send me 2 new shirts. So overall, if the new shirts don't have the same problem I am a satisfied customer overall, although the t-shirts do seem a bit thin compared to before.I am a long time customer of American Apparel clothes. They fit great and their quality used to be great for the price. They have really gone down hill from a few years ago though. I have a handful of these shirts from about 4 years ago when AA still focused on the quality of their clothes. Those are still wearable, but are reaching their limit.I recently bought 2 more to replace those old ones and upon receiving them, I noticed immediately that the material was thinner than before. After wearing both shirts I threw them in the laundry on delicate setting (I was all my clothes on delicate) and air dried them. To my dismay, the stitching on the bottom hem of both shirts was already coming out, rendering the shirts unwearable. I checked AA's replacement policy and surprise surprise, they don't offer any sort of exchange on shirts that have been laundered, most likely to protect themselves in this situation. Well it costs about $30 to wear these shirts one time each which is pretty disappointing. Will most likely be searching for a new brand to fill my closet.

Durable, lengthy, colorful and comfortable.
The 50/50 Poly/Cotton in these shirts feel great against your skin. They're also a little longer in the torso than your standard cotton shirt. I've had one for a couple of years and it's just now beginning to pill from washing it - but I wore it a LOT. The color has also stayed very vibrant. Currently, I own 10 or more of these shirts since they come in wide variety of colors. I've also screen-printed on them and they've outlasted the ink on them - or maybe I'm a terrible screen-printer...

fits like all my other mediums
Got a medium, fits like all my other mediums. Quality is great. Got free swag from my work that used the 50/50 AA shirts over a year ago. I like the way that shirt held up, so I purchased a couple more. I got brown, and it looks like the brown in the picture. I also got navy blue, and it looks like the picture too. Also got their tri blend in a lighter brown...called coffee brown or oats or something, too lazy to check....but I got it in large and it fits like a large. Pretty comfy shirts! Will eventually get more, since these plain shirts can go with anything.

Way too long
I am 5'9 , skinny, and wear a size large in all my shirts. I like my shirts a bit longer and slim. This one is slim and fits great in all areas except the length. It's so absurdly long it goes down to the middle of my thighs. It looks ridiculous. I could wear it as a dress. If you are above 6ft and slim this may be perfect for you.

Great Shirt
I’ve been looking for a nice simple shirt for a while, and this fits just perfectly! It’s soft and a little long, which I like! The white accent to the dark black really looks nice. I am a teenager, and this makes me look like a teenager but not like snooty or anything. I look classic, and it’s really nice. I plan on buying this same shirt in the navy with white collar next.

Flattering Cut
This tee is amazing, made of quality material that doesn't shrink or lose shape in the wash. Great for men with longer torsos too!

Best deal in UK currently for this
The American Apparel 50/50 crew has been my go-to plain tee since I discovered way back when AA had stores in the UK.The 50/50 poly/cotton fabric is very lightweight. The cut is on size at the shoulder and with more volume from the underarm down. This fit is very cool and current.Washing is easy on a 30 degree delicates cycle and then when air dried on a rack it can look smart without ironing.Best avoid intensive washing and tumble drying which will cause pilling.
