Gent Supply Black Waterproof Plastic Playing Cards - Day of The Dead

This deck of cards is amazing! Very high quality and very durable. The only possibly down side(s) would be that sometimes the face of the card may be slightly difficult to read as they're quite dark, and if you're dealing on a smooth table the cards tend to slide across the table so easily they may well go further than you expect/intend.

These cards were purchased for inclusion in an art piece. They're stunning in person. The paper feels like you standard playing card, but the texture of the embossed images feels fantastic. Since the images are subdued and the same color as the cards, it is difficult to read the cards in low light situations, so I wouldn't recommend these for recreational use (unless your lighting is always really bright. If you're looking for beautiful playing cards, you've found some.

They are good quality playing cards. The design on the cards, both inside and out, is amazing. They are every bit as dope on the table as they are on the listing. The inlet drawback is that is you design wanted to use them in a game, they are extremely difficult to see functionally in regular lighting. For the price, I can't see not picking up a deck or two.

I see a lot of other reviews complaining about the readability of these cards - they're not wrong they can be difficult to read in low light - but I don't understand the docking of a star for it... These are black designs on a black background, of course the readability is going to be... well.. what you'd expect for black on black (duh) - but for these cards, that's kind of the point. They are no less beautiful for it, qualitywise and designwise. I've tried a few other black on black card sets and none have the quality these have, the others have this fake sticker stuff on them and they're supposed to be waterproof but you can't even shuffle those without ruining the edges... gross. These you can shuffle around just fine without any damage to the cards, and i can tell they will last as long as they are treated right. I do wish the case was also waterproof, but one can easily buy a fancier case for these if desired.

I love plastic playing cards. My favorite deck of cards had been left behind at a place I was living so I ordered these because they looked so cool. But when I got them, I opened them up and noticed that they are so hard to see. I’m not really sure what the point in having cards that I can not play with is. They look pretty and that’s great, but unless I’m playing in a ton of light, I can’t use them. I don’t think I’ve played one game with them. They just sit in my drawer. It’s disappointing because I was so excited about them. After I realized that these weren’t going to work for what I needed them for (which was to play the occasional game of rummy, casino or spades), I had to come back on amazon and order a new plastic deck and this time I stuck with a regular white deck.

These sleek black waterproof cards are perfect for game night… and apparently teething practice. My baby tried to “eat” the queen of hearts, and she came out spotless. No warping, no soggy edges—just classy, drool-proof cards that shuffle like a dream.

Nice deck of cards. As described & pictured. Great addition to my collection. Yes they are hard to see in low light settings & I bought the gold & silver deck. The all black deck would be hard to see even in the day time. Yet I believe it would still be very cool. As the back of the deck I have is entirely black & impressive.

Most importantly, the printing of this deck's artwork is certainly not silver and gold (as described in the listing), nor is the artwork metallic or embossed in any way (as it appears in the product images). In reality, the artwork is printed as a flat, dull matte yellow/grey, with the only reflective element being the base PVC plastic of the card itself. This is not at all how the product has been presented, nor described. Furthermore, I would be very interested to hear how the cards I received, could photograph as shown in the listing without significant image manipulation of some kind. So, if you're looking for a uniquely themed, sparkly gold and silver deck, this is certainly not it. Although the deck design does have some interesting artwork, it's a shame this product has been presented as something it is not, and sold at a price it does not deserve. Very poor value for the price, and I will now avoid the 'Gent Supply' brand for all future purchases.

Love the cards, very slick and detailed.

Product arrived on time. Card package was wrapped in plastic but the box had a small tear somehow. Cards are a plastic material instead of a usual cardboard. Designs are fantastic and the quality of the cards are great, but it can be hard to see at the wrong angle or in dark light. Look great but probably not the best for playing.
