Not a bad set up, nice to not have to get out of the car to open the gate.
Worked pretty well for our 16ft entrance gate. I'd give it 5 stars instead of 4 but I have just a couple of qualms with it. Maybe I'm just being nit picky. The range for the remotes are just "ok". Our garage door opener remotes will open the garage door from about 500 feet away, but the mighty mule remote (and our off brand remotes we bought for it) only open it if you are within 100ft or so. The motor on the gate opener is a bit slower than I thought, (but I understand it is a big gate to open) Lastly, every once and a while it has a hiccup where it starts to open and then randomly stops. I have to press the remote button again to make it re-close, and then press it again and then it opens fully. Its probably done this about 3 times out of the 50 times we've used it, but it's still something that occurs that bugged me. Do yourself a favor and buy the battery and solar panel separately from another brand on Amazon to save yourself some money. That's what we did and saved a good chunk of money over the big Mighty Mule "kit" that comes with the battery, solar panel, and extra remotes. We do love not having to get out of the car every time we leave the house to lock the gate. Especially in bad weather.

So far....Great
Recently moved to the "country". First order of business is a good gate at the driveway. Looked around and did a bunch of research. Decided on this one because the control "box" is in the arm of the unit. After hanging the gate and leveling it I started on this and was done in about 1 hour. In about one month we have not had a single issue related to the gate opener. Has worked every time we push the button and closed every time after about a minute. It opens and closes a bit slow but it works. Now for my friendly tip.... IF you are going to run power to the unit, rather than a solar panel, buy 12-2 regular wire AND run it through underground PVC. DO NOT spend 4 times as much for the direct bury cable. I learned this the hard way and after burying the direct bury ended up with a tiny nick on the wire from a rock. So after pulling it all up to find the problem ended up running it through 600 feet of PVC...which I could have done with the regular 12-2 romax.

Understand your own abilities first, and then go for it.
This was the third Mighty Mule opener I've installed for my own use. Two of the previous 500 series (one hit by lightning) and now this 360 model. Each time I have been impressed with the tech support people, and their ability to suggest some 'outside the box' ideas. But their help is only as good as your technical ability. So, if you are expecting this to be plug and play, stop now and go spend a great deal more money and have someone put in a high end brand for you. Otherwise your frustration level may well max out if you don't understand things like stall force, and amp hours. But if you're still reading, I think this is a great buy for the money, and here is my comparison of the old/new technology:Positive: (1) Separate circuit board and associated large box is gone. It is now all contained within the operator itself. (2) Physical installation is therefore much easier and (3) technical complexity level is greatly reduced. (4) The little batteries have been replaced with a separate auto/boat/motorcycle battery in a weatherproof case, providing 5x the life.Negative: (1) The above mentioned battery and case are sold separately, so plan on spending another $100 or more. (2) With the circuit board being contained in the (moving) operator now, all the wiring for the board must also move. So make sure you leave enough slack in all the wires to handle that movement, but not enough to get tangled up in.Important: The instructions talk about the car/marine battery, but that's not really what you need. Those batteries are typically rated in CCA's (Cold Cranking Amps) and that doesn't apply in this installation. You're not 'cranking' anything, you're powering an electric motor. What you are interested in, therefore, is battery life - usually expressed in amp hours. In plain English, how long will that battery continue to operate the opener with no outside power source, as in a power outage for example? Various places sell one for just this purpose and it is actually smaller than a traditional car battery.Overall, I'm very pleased with this new model. Strong first impressions hoping for many years of service as with the older one.

Perfect!
Loving my MM360. As a wheelchair user, this was my best investment thus far. No more in/out, in/out of the car to open the gate. Click. Done! Was an easy install. Just be sure you have the motor side of the arm properly attached with no binding, etc. Use the pin holes to lock it into the appropriate spot to ensure no binding occurs. Note this model uses a boat or car battery that is not supplied. I placed the battery in a battery box and then built a little cedar shake "house" to hide it all nicely. Placed the three wires leading from the receiver antenna and arm/motor to battery in a length of pipe foam insulation to clean up the look. Ran a length of the low voltage wire underground from house to the battery to keep it charged via the provided AC transformer. Purchased two extra remotes (comes with one only) to ensure all vehicles have remotes.

COmplete garbage, do not buy this or any other MM product.
Customer support is horrible, these products have glitchy circuit boards that will fail once the warranty is over, and customer service does nothing to help you, simply stating that they dont carry parts anymore. Who does that? A well-run company doesnt.Would not recommend.

Decent Gate Opener
We've had this installed now for 4 months and it's working well. The installation is fairly complicated and requires wiring and mechanical skills. The guide states that a full sized car or RV batter is required but we've had no problems using a smaller "garden tractor" 12 V batter from Canadian Tire (much cheaper) to open our relatively light 12 foot farm gate. Heavier or longer gates might require a larger battery. Our system is powered by the included wall adapter, but solar charging would be an option too. It is a little bit noisy when operating but this has the hidden benefit of alerting anyone standing close that the gate is opening.

It opens faster than the previous one.
We are fans of mighty mule gate openers. This is our third one. This one has less range for opening remotely. It falls short by about 100 ft compared to the last 2 we had.
