These little things are great!
So easy to install and keeping the laces secured. Definitely don't lace an cut before trying on your shoe and walking around. I laced mine up and wore them for the day and they were fine but I realized they were loose in the ankle area so I could adjust the laces and tighten them up. Stretchy material isn't too thin and seems of good quality while super easy is loop through the mechanism and secure to desired length. I bought 3 and now I'm buying 5 more for other shoes! and some for my kids shoes!

These are exactly what you are looking for!
Exactly what I was hoping for! Meets all my expectations. They haven’t come loose at all or stretched out and were a perfect match to my shoe color. Super easy to lace and the little plastic piece that holds it is very simple but super effective. Stays hidden, comfortable, and looks great! 10/10 would buy again for another pair of shoes!

Still thinking about this one
I’m not sure how I feel just yet. My son is not a fan of tying shoes and prefers elastics. We have tried a few brands and for different reasons none have really worked out. He’s older now so I figured we could try a different style and I bought these. I will say the laces themselves are nice. We got the ones with reflective color in them and that I like. They were easy to thread thru the shoe grommets and the holes without grommets. Once you put them in you can cut them to whatever length you want. Worked great with lost left for a youth size 4 shoe. However, there’s not much in the way of instructions. I used the inside anchor bc there are no instructions for the outside anchors. I have a feeling my son is going to complain he can feel the extra material on the inside. He hasn’t tried them yet but I won’t let him try them the first time at a long camp day. Update: We changed all the inside clips to the external for comfort. They are working for us.

Great, comically reflective
After trying 3 different systems between 5 companies, these are the best. I've tried the round bungee cords, the silicon bands, and these flat ones. to start off, I have the most frustrating feet in my family, too high of arches, overpronate and oversupinate with each step, not a lot of fat on the ball or heel of my feet. Just terrible, tried every Dr. Scholl's product they make for men, literally. No avail. Then at the hardware store of all places I came across the silicon bands, I think they're called Hickies, mine were knockoffs for about 1.50 in their clearance aisle for a box, tried them, and loved them. they greatly improved my foot comfort, but they all broke one by one. At least now I was on the right path. So after trying out more name brand silicones and others, this was the best. Pros: -They look like laces, you can keep the excess material on them, and tie them like a normal shoe if you want to, so if you're self conscious, then buy these, they're pretty normal looking. -I bought another brand of flat elastic laces that said they were reflective, they weren't, these are blindingly reflective. -They're thin, but not too. The other brand of flat, were a bit too fat to fit through my eye holes of my tennis shoes, so you couldn't adjust tension at a later date easily. -They're the right amount of elastic, not too loose and not too tight. They feel like the silicone ones I had, which I liked a lot. -Randomly the company emails you a ton of informational videos on how to use their products, and different lacing techniques, it was weird, but cool to see a company that in love with their product and wanting to make sure the customer is well informed. -The laces feel odd and have a texture to them that made me feel like they'd start flaking and sloughing off, though I stress tested them and didn't end up with glittery hands. I've had elastics that have done that before, it's not cool. So glad to see the plastic thread is woven into the lace in a manner that it's well incorporated and not a coating. -As I said, I tie mine, instead of lacing them through their stopper. It was more so, if in the off chance I'd need to return them, I could in the same/similar condition I got them. Needless to say they hold a knot well and haven't ran into issues with them untying on me. Though I double wind around then pull through to form my second loop, it's the only knot I've found that can handle the abuse it receives from my stride. Cons: -Maybe they're not going to last that long, I don't know. They are thin, and my shoes have chewed through 6 elastic bands, though since then I "modified" my shoes to round out those sharp cutting corners. Though if you have metal eyelets and your foot moves around like mine, you're going to probably want to puffy paint the crud out of the eyelets like I did, not sure how that's going to hold up, but was working with what I had. -When lacing them, they kind of get annoying to make sure they're laying flat and not twisting on you in the eyelets. Things to keep in mind: I wear a size 10.5 US Male, after lacing, I had a lot left over, nearly 2 feet both sides per shoe, though with a big loop, you can wrangle them and manage it so the laces aren't dragging on the ground. Color wise, they're about a light gray, not too light that they're nearly white. Hex value would be about DCDCDC or 220,220,220 in decimal triplets. Conclusion: For 10 dollars, not bad, if they break, I'll buy them again. Would recommend for those that need that bit of give with their laces.

Not the best elastic laces, and elastic laces have issues
I tried the two most popular and best-regarded elastic shoelaces, Lock Laces and Xpand No Tie Shoelace System, and here's what I found. Lock Laces are the best. They are easy to put in the shoe, easy to adjust (this is a big deal) and look good. Xpand are hard to install and adjust. The catch that holds the laces in place is a difficult and time consuming to use. The time consuming is an issue since to get the best fit you will be constantly adjusting the laces the first few days and you want a system that makes that as easy as possible. Also, Xpand directions are bad, and Xpand's flat shape does not work as well as a round shape shoelace in evening out tension along the run of the lace. Elastic laces work great in that they let you instantly take shoes on and off. But if your elastic laces are adjusted tight enough that they keep your shoe secure when you lift your foot then they are too tight when the foot is resting. And if they are comfortable when resting, your shoe will be a bit loose as you step. I think this is why shoemakers don't put them on new shoes despite the added convenience. The good news is that the tendency of the laces to be too loose or too tight is only an issue if you have your shoes on your foot for long periods of stationary time and do a fair amount of walking or running. If you mostly wear the shoes around home or office that they are a bit loose, it won't matter. And if you are an athlete who wants to throw them on and run flat out for a few hours, that they are too tight may not matter much either. But if you want to wear these laces for a few hours in the office, say, where you don't move much, and then need to walk a few hours in them you probably won't be happy. Tip: To get the best of our them you need to adjust the tension just right. This is pure trial and error. The laces ship really long and you cut off the excess. For your first day or two, leave way, way more excess then you think you need. You may be surprised how much you adjust them and you'll be grateful for the extra lace. Besides, you can cut it off later.
