Will this work well with the PS5?

It works really well with the PS5, you just have to play with the sound settings on the game system. Depending on your TV, I'd suggest running it through HDMI out in passthrough mode.

Is the sony ht s40r 5.1 compatible with an LG tv

If your LG TV has a optical output then yes.

How long is the subwoofer cable?

The cable connecting the sub-woofer and the sound bar is six (6) feet plus. The cable connecting the electrical power is four (4) to five (5) feet. MY HDMI cable is about four (4) feet. I found the length of the cable to be more than adequate for my installation.

So the rear speakers are wired? How far apart can they be located?

They connect to a wireless receiver, so the wires don’t have to run from the TV straight back to the rear speakers. My rear speakers are about 12’ apart, and there’s plenty of excess wire. They can probably go 20-25’ feet apart.
